Alex wondered if times like these were when having a lightsaber would be beneficial. Her blaster seemed to be nothing in comparison to Grievous' four lightsabers. However, it appeared that the actual Jedi in the fight didn't need any more help.

It was beginning to feel like they finally had Grievous. Two of his lightsabers were knocked out of his mechanical limbs, and he seemed ready to give up. Then, he focused on Alex. He had never seen her before today. She wasn't a clone, and clearly not a Jedi. Why was she there? If she was fighting alongside the "big three" Jedi, maybe she was important to them.

He shifted his attention away from the Jedi and towards Alex, lunging towards her. Alex panicked and shot at him, but it was no match. Anakin and Obi-Wan tried to stop him from behind, but he was determined. He came closer to Alex, her hands trembling. He knocked the blaster out of her hand and sent her crashing into the nearest wall.

"Alex!" Obi-Wan shouted, rushing to her side and completely abandoning his part in the battle.

Finally, Grievous understood Alex's role in the narrative. Anakin and Ahsoka, distracted by Alex's injury, became a weak match for Grievous, who had retrieved his other two lightsabers. He seized the opportunity and escaped as soon as he could.

Anakin and Ahsoka jumped after him from the balcony, chasing him, while Obi-Wan stayed by Alex's side. He tried to help her sit up, and she hissed in pain. "We need to get you help immediately," he said, his voice shaky.

He picked her up and hurried to the medical bay, her arms around his neck. She noticed the absolute panic on his face, the color draining from his cheeks. She didn't like seeing him in such a state. She began to feel drowsy, struggling to keep her eyes open, but it was a losing battle. Obi-Wan noticed this.

"Oh no, Alex, wake up, come on, please," he urged, running even faster. Finally, he reached the medical bay and gently laid her down on the bed. He stepped aside, allowing the doctors to do their work. He caught a horrible glimpse of an awful bruise on her abdomen, and the sight of it made waiting for the doctors to finish even more agonizing.
