"Hasn't she woken up yet?" Alex heard Anakin's muffled voice, as if it were coming from rooms away. She was suspended between dream and reality.

"Let me see! She's been unconscious for too long," a thin voice, unmistakably Ahsoka's, chimed in. Obi-Wan occupied the chair beside Alex's bed, his hand resting on his temple, observing Anakin and Ahsoka.

Finally, Alex regained control over her body. She slowly opened her eyes; the overhead lights were blindingly bright. At first, she saw blurred outlines of Anakin and Ahsoka peering down at her. She squinted her eyes.

They watched her open her eyes with a gleam of relief. "Master, she's awake!" Ahsoka exclaimed.

Obi-Wan sprang out of his chair as Anakin and Ahsoka moved aside. With Obi-Wan's assistance, Alex gradually sat up and inquired, "What happened?"

"You were stabbed," Ahsoka informed her. Alex tried to recollect the events from the previous night, the last memory being the look of concern on Obi-Wan's face.

"What about Grievous? Did you capture him?" Her memories were returning rapidly, luckily with no head injuries.

"No, we pursued him all over Coruscant, but that robot bastard escaped," Anakin grumbled.

Ahsoka nudged Anakin, saying, "You just woke up; we're going to get you something to eat." They exited the room.

Alex attempted to adjust herself, wincing in the process. Obi-Wan promptly came to her aid. She noticed the same anxious expression on his face, which made her feel uneasy. "I've had worse injuries, Obi-Wan; I'll be fine," she lied.

"It's not fine. A blaster won't help you in battles like these," he insisted.

She looked up at him, then her gaze dropped to her lap. "Yeah, I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't be involved in battles like these anymore. I think, maybe it's time for me to return home."

"Oh," he replied, his eyebrows raising slightly. "Yes, I think you should. I'm sorry; I've been selfish in involving you in my affairs," he admitted.

Alex's forehead furrowed. "Don't say that."

They sat in silence for a moment. "Alright, I'll make arrangements for your departure first thing in the morning. For now, you should rest," Obi-Wan said, his eyes showing a hint of moisture. Before she could respond, he added, "I'll see you in the morning," and left with a half-smile. Leaving Alex all so confused.
