I opened my eyes to the sounds of crying, to a pitch-black room. Scanning the darkness, I found nothing. The cries intensified, becoming more haunting. As I explored the room, the source revealed itself—there I was, on the floor, weeping. In my hands, clutched tightly, was Obi Wan.
"Alex, would you come with me for a second?" Mace Windu said. It had been a few days since the Gundark incident, Alex and Obi Wan slept on opposite sides of the bed, they would talk about missions and nothing more. She didn't want to talk to him, because she was scared. The dreams had intensified, and the last one she had, was the first one where she encountered a dead Obi Wan. She didn't want to tell him, She didn't want anyone to know.
"Yes, Master?" Alex followed him down the hallway.
"I have decided to put you incharge of a mission." He said sternly.
"Me? What?" She let out a chuckle. "Why me? What about Anakin or Obi Wan?"
"I have been observing you Alex, you're quite an asset on the field, I want to test your abilities. I hope you wouldn't let me down." He said.
Alex smiled, "I wouldn't let you down Master." She felt happy, after so long, she had never been in a position of authority, Mostly she just felt faded off into the background. As much as she hated to admit it, the validation of a Jedi Master was really fulfilling.
"You have to lead troops to a hidden separatist base, I will be sending Anakin and Ahsoka with you. Good luck Commander." And with that he left.
Alex walked down the hallway with a huge smile on her face. She saw Ahsoka skipping towards her, "Hey, I heard!"
"I'm so excited!" Alex said.
"Me too, but first, come here for a second." Ahsoka grabbed Alex's hand and dragged her into a training room. Anakin was there, and so was Obi Wan standing in the corner leaning against a wall with his arms crossed.
"We have a gift for you commander." Anakin said. He brought out a medium sized box. Alex opened it. Inside was some sort of stick. She held it up, looked at them confused.
"Press the button!" Ahsoka said, jittery. So she did, and a staff shot out from each end, it was heavy, hard metal, and a bit pointy at each end. "We saw that day how you completely dominated that pole, Say goodbye to sleezy blasters. It has cool features too let me show you!"
"Cool! I love it, thank you!" Alex hugged Ahsoka. She looked at Obi Wan, he had a smile on her face. Ahsoka showed her the features, like a little kid excited about a new toy.
When they left the training room, Obi Wan grabbed Alex's arm, and brought her close to him, "So, Commander Solari." Alex blushed. "Are you excited?"
"Very. And, Thank you for the present."
Obi Wan looked a bit taken aback, "Oh dear, they told you didn't they?"
"They didn't have to." Alex put her hands on his face and brought it closer for a kiss, it was long and deep. They hadn't had a kiss like that for quite some time. He had his hands wrapped around her waist, While she explored his hair with her fingers. When it was time to end the kiss he almost didn't want her to go.
"Be safe, I love you." As Obi Wan said those words, something shifted. It felt like the force entered both their bodies, running up from their feet to their heads. Like something in the space time continuum had just been broken.
"I love you too."
