Alex's plan to leave the next day was scrapped due to her injury not having healed. The doctors deemed it better for her to spend at least another week there until she was healed enough to return home, wherever that might be.

She hadn't seen Obi-Wan once during those five days. She was confused and mostly infuriated. She couldn't figure out what had happened, what she had done wrong. Was he trying to punish her somehow? She did see Anakin and Ahsoka, and when she asked about Obi-Wan, they would tell her he was on a mission. She saw Padmé Amidala once; they had a chat, and she grew quite fond of her, even more so than before. She had always thought of her as a powerful and fair senator for her home planet, but now she knew she was a kind person too.

She missed Obi-Wan. On the day she was finally discharged, she went to her room to pack. She was beginning to think she wouldn't see Obi-Wan at all before leaving, and perhaps never again.

She bid Anakin and Ahsoka farewell and headed onto her ship. There, she saw a rather torn Obi-Wan standing against it, waiting.

He noticed her arrival, and his mouth curved up into a smile. However, she didn't smile back. "I was beginning to think I wouldn't see you again," she admitted.

"I'm quite sorry. I was on a—"

"A mission? Yeah, I know."

He stared at the ground, his expression hardened. Finally, he looked up. "Well, so long, friend!" he said and patted her on the arm.

Alex was furious. She wanted to bang his head against the wall. Her face dulled, her eyes burned into Obi-Wan's as he tried to avoid eye contact. He didn't know what to do or say. He felt distorted.

She let out a stifled chuckle and headed into the ship, not looking back once. Unlike Obi-Wan, who stood there the whole time, watching the ship leave the planet.

While on the ship, she was incredibly angry, not just at Obi-Wan but also at herself. She knew better than to expect anything from a Jedi, of all people. She knew better than to allow herself to fall for a Jedi, of all people. She was aware that he could never provide her with what she truly desired. But the most frustrating part of it all was that throughout this entire time, he had made her believe otherwise. foolish. She didn't need any distractions in her life, anyway. All of this had been fun for a while, but it was only a distraction. She needed to return to her life; the Republic was not her place. She didn't belong there, not with the Jedi, and certainly not with Obi-Wan.

As she sat in the pilot's seat, lost in thought, she suddenly felt something—a peculiar sensation coursing through her entire body, like an electric current. She sat up abruptly, recognizing this feeling from only one other time in her life, when her parents... Her thought was abruptly interrupted as she experienced the sensation once more. What was it? Could it be the Force? Obi-Wan. Something had happened. Suddenly, she found herself reaching for the control system, her body seemingly operating on its own accord. She turned the ship back toward Coruscant. Obi-Wan.
