Together, they made their way to the ball. Upon arrival, Alex's eyes sparkled with fascination as she looked around. Conversations filled the air, people laughed, soft music played, and the lights twinkled. The room was grand, with a magnificent balcony offering a breathtaking view of Coruscant.
While she absorbed the ambiance, Obi-Wan couldn't take his eyes off her for a second. He noticed her perfect hair, her radiant smile, her rosy cheeks, and her graceful neck. He was captivated.
She finally looked at him, feeling a bit flustered by his gaze. Before he could say anything, she glanced behind him and noticed Anakin and Padmé dancing closely.
"What's going on between them?" She smirked.
Obi-Wan turned to look. "What do you mean? Nothing, of course."
She regarded him as if he were clueless. "Come on, Obi-Wan, even a blind man could see there's something there."
"I suppose we all know something is going on, but we choose not to talk about it."
"Oh well, the kid seems extremely happy. It's rather cute."
"I suppose. Shall I get us some drinks?" he asked, to which she nodded.
Obi-Wan went to the bar to get two drinks. Ahsoka, his former padawan, approached him.
"Hello, Master. You look pretty good," Ahsoka said. Obi-Wan smiled down at her.
"Well, so do you, young padawan." He turned around with one drink in each hand and couldn't help but stare at Alex, who stood alone, her radiance akin to a star.
Ahsoka noticed his intense gaze and playfully teased, "Whatcha lookin' at, Master?"
Without averting his gaze from Alex, he replied, "Ah, you know, my young padawan, sometimes I wish I were more like Anakin. I wish I knew what I wanted and didn't stop until I got it." He gave a wistful smile.
"Master, it seems to me you already do know what you want, but you're too afraid to go and get it."
He looked at her and smiled. "I suppose so. When did you get so wise?"
"Ah, learned from the best," she giggled.
Ahsoka and Obi-Wan walked over to Alex.
"Hello, Ahsoka, you look like a princess – a princess who, you know, destroyed droids at the blink of an eye." Ahsoka giggled at Alex's remark, feeling proud.
Obi-Wan, still captivated by Alex, didn't pay much attention and kept staring at her.
"Do you want to dance?"
"But what about the drinks?"
"I'll take them. You guys go!" Ahsoka said, taking the drink from Alex's hand and pushing her toward Obi-Wan.
