Chapter 33: Lucas's Forever

It was the evening. Melinda and Floroso were outside of The Garden Of Wonders, looking if Sage was still watching them.

"This guy is still watching us under his radar." Floroso said, "Isn't he?"

Melinda then saw Sage laying on a tree branch, watching them.

"He's still watching us…" Melinda said as she and Floroso turned to each other, "He's not even bothered by our existence."

Floroso looked at Sage.

"Look at him." He said, "Watching us. He doesn't have a single care in the world. Does he even know that we're trying to free Aaron from his Ringmaster's control?"

"Probably, but he doesn't care." Melinda said,

Floroso then got Sage to look at him as Floroso raised a hand.

"Hey!" He hollered Sage, "Can I ask you something? How did you become what you are today?"

Sage looked at Floroso and Melinda like he's holding a grudge for them.

"...I lost my parents when I was a young boy…" He said,

Floroso and Melinda were shocked.

"...They were killed by a gang." Sage continued, "Another gang took me in and took care of me until they showed me their true colors…"

"Oh my…" Floroso said,

"...I was then kicked out. I wandered around aimlessly without knowing who to help me, until I stumbled across the old remains of what is now The Twilight Carnival… Then, I met my old Ringmaster who helped me and made me this way… A creature with a Dark Art and a Sin, cursed from society."

"Heavens…" Melinda said,

"Then… I killed both gangs, my gang and the gang that ended the lives of my parents… To think that my parents were the ones that gave me life until that gang ruined it all. Then another gang came in and gave me back the life stolen until they stole it again…"

"Well… We're sorry to hear."

"...No you're not."

Melinda and Floroso were confused.

"Uhhh, ok then." Floroso said, "Can you tell us how you met Lucas?"

"...That's only Lucas can tell, not me. For now…" Sage replied as he turned his head away, "...I'm done talking."

Sage then rested on the tree without a care in the world.

"Right… He's definitely the Sin of Sloth." Melinda said,

"No doubt about it." Floroso said,

Melinda sighed.

"I sure hope Aaron is ok…" She said, "Who knows what they'll do to him and his friends…"

Aaron meanwhile was sleeping until he slowly opened his eyes, waking himself up. Then, he saw someone watching, close to him and giggling menacingly.

"Rise and shine~" A familiar voice said,

Aaron groaned until that voice got to him. He opened his eyes fully and saw Lucas The Ringmaster!

"GAHHH!" Aaron shouted in fear as he tried to crawl away from him, but his arms were cuffed by some sort of handcuffs, "Wh-What the heck?! What are you doing to me?!"
