Chapter 68

Chapter 68: Mago Gets In The Way!

Aaron and James then hurried in the halls of Lambert's castle as they attacked more demons guarding it.

“Tell us where his throne room is!” James shouted at a demon,

The demon, scared, pointed them to where the throne room was at. James tossed the demon aside and continued their way to the throne room.

However, they were then trapped in a big magical cage.

“What the?!” Aaron shouted, “Where did this come from?!”

Mago appeared above them and laughed a bit.

“Gotcha!” He shouted,

“You clever little rat!” James said,

Mago laughed more.

“If you want to take on Lambert, you'll have to go through me first!” He said as he conducted a Dark Art aura, “Let's perform, shall we?”

Aaron and James prepared their swords as Mago dived down at James first.

James and Mago then fought together. James was swinging his holy sword at Mago while block his attacks with his fists under his Dark Art aura.

“What's the matter? Eager to fight someone you haven't fought before?” Mago asked,

“I've heard of you from the others.” James said, “You're annoying!”

James then kicked Mago in his left knee and made him fall to one knee.

“Damn it!” Mago said as he saw James swinging his sword at him, “Oh no you don't!”

Mago disappeared and reappeared behind James and blasted him with his magic at the back. James was then sent flying to the cage and was hit by it. He then fell to the floor and Mago laughed more.

“This cage is made out of the finest titanium possible!” They said, “You don't mind breaking some bones, do you?”

James was weakened a bit as he was on one knee. Mago laughed more as he was hit by something from behind. He turned to see Aaron with his flower powers fused with The Golden Snapdragon.

“You have the powers of The Golden Snapdragon!” Mago said in shocked,

“Indeed I do.” Aaron said with a serious look and tone, “And I'm not gonna hold back against you.”

Mago chuckled.

“Alright then!” He said as he conducted a Dark Art aura, “Let's have a jolly good show together!”

Mago and Aaron then clashed with what they had under their magic. Mago with his aura in combat and Aaron with his two flowery swords.

The two then continued to fight more and more and clashing a few more times until Aaron stabs the floor or ground with his new Golden Snapdragon Sword. Roots came out and whipped Mago's aura out of existence. Then they wrapped him around, trapping him. Aaron then pointed one of his swords at Mago.

“Give up.” Aaron said to him, “Your little show is over.”

Mago chuckled a bit. Aaron was confused on why Mago isn't struggling or surrendering.

“What are you chuckling for?” He wondered,

“You don't know, do you?” Mago said to him, “Lambert had gifted me powers far beyond your imagination!”

A magical force destroyed the roots to pieces as Mago's powers suddenly grew stronger!

“Oh no…” Aaron said in shock, “What have I done…”

Worrying, Aaron doesn't know what to do as Mago then launches himself towards Aaron and tackles him mercilessly to the floor. James saw in horror.

“Aaron!” James shouted,

Mago then got Aaron up by grabbing him by the throat, choking him a bit as well. Mago was laughing menacingly.

“Is that the best you got?!” They said to Aaron, “Oh, please! We all know that I come out on top in terms of our performances!”

Mago then uses his arm hand to create a blade made out of his magic by clenching his fist.

“Any last words, Flower Boy?” He asked him,

“...Don't… kill… me…” Aaron replied, struggling to get off of Mago's grip,

“Hmmm, let me think about it… Nope! Time to dance with the devil!”

As Mago was about to attack Aaron to finish him off, Mago was then stung twice from behind. Letting go of Aaron for Aaron to breathe, Mago was infected by some sort of venom. He turned around to see Fenris and Cello as they used their scorpion stingers to sting Mago.

“B-But how?!” Mago shouted as he then fell to the floor, paralyzed and weakened,

“Well, that was easier than I thought.” Fenris said, “Thanks for the assistance.”

“Same for you.” Cello said as he saw Aaron, “Here, let's get him up.”

Aaron was then brought up by Cello and Fenris. Aaron then went over to help James up and healed him with magic flowers.

“Thanks…” James said as the flowers were withered out upon James’ full recovery,

Fenris came by.

“So this Lambert guy was also responsible behind the death of my family, huh?” He wondered,

“Yup.” Aaron replied, “You and I are on the same boat as always.”

“Heh heh, took the words out of my mouth.”

Cello then used his magic to destroy the titanium cage.

“We'll keep Mago occupied.” He said, “You two know what to do.”

“Right.” James said as he turned to Aaron, “Are you ready, Aaron?”

Aaron smiled as he nodded.

“Yes, yes I am.” He replied,

“Good luck.” Fenris said, “You're gonna need it.”

“Thanks, uhh…”

“...Fenris. Been a while, yeah?”

“Yeah…”

“Ha ha, don't worry about it. Just go.”

Aaron and James then continued there way towardd Lambert's throne room. The final battle to put an end to Lambert and his reign is halfway there…
