Chapter 59: A Plan For Redemption
Mary was looking at Lucas and examining him a bit. Aaron was watching it all happening. Lucas was confused and a bit sad.
“So… Are you done?” He wondered,
“Patience, Ringmaster.” James said,
“...Fine.”
Mary nodded her head.
“Right… You were hurt by your father, became a Ringmaster of Lust and now the trauma you felt has gotten back to you.” She said, “Plus, to the point where the trauma made you hurt the one person you are near and dear to.”
“Yes…” Lucas said,
“I see, well my ex-husband sure has used the late Great Harold and you for his devilish deeds.”
“Your ex-husband is my lord and you're saying he mind controlled me and my cult?”
“Correct.”
Lucas sighed.
“I don't believe you on the mind controlling part.” He said, “But the ex-husband part, yeah, I guess.”
“Don't worry, I'll make sure that you and your cult will know about being used by my ex-husband.”
“Sure, why not…”
James looked at Lucas.
“A Ringmaster of Lust, blinded by my father.” He said, “If your mother would have left with you, then you wouldn't be here.”
“Yeah, that's true.” Lucas said,
Aaron got up.
“Ok, so what do we have to do now?” He wondered,
“Look, we don't have to do whatever we're gonna do.” Lucas said as he got up, “I am ok now.”
“Are you sure?” Mary wondered with a raised eyebrow,
“Yes, I am sure.”
As Lucas was about to leave, he heard his father's voice in his head again.
“You are nothing without me!” He shouted at Lucas, “NOTHING!”
Lucas screamed in fear and moved his head around.
“NO, GET AWAY FROM ME!” He shouted,
Lucas then looks at Aaron, James and Mary as they were concerned about him. He then sighed in disbelief.
“Alright, I give up.” He said, “I do need help… This has happened to me ever since I killed my father. I thought killing my mother would get rid of this whole thing, but it made it worse…”
“Hmmm… A case of being manipulated since my father has watched every move you have taken throughout your life.” James said, “He controls your powers like a puppet to his strings.”
“A puppet, huh?”
“Yes…”
“So, James, do you know what to do to find redemption on Lucas?” Aaron wondered,
“You two must team up and find something… Incredible while on the quest to find The Golden Snapdragon. I think it's best to save the snapdragon for last.”
“Good idea. Lucas?”
Lucas then cracked his whip.
“Guess we got no other option then.” He said, “Come on, Flower Boy, you and me. We'll see how this whole redemption thing works on me…”
“Ok.” Aaron said, “But please don't flirt with me, got it?”
“I won't.”
“But first!” James said,
James then used his fallen angelic magic to create a new whip.
“For backup, use this whip I have created.” He said, “But I must warn, it will burn anyone with a Dark Art that tries to touch it for the first times.”
Lucas then got a hold of the new whip, but was burned by it.
“Ahhh!” He shouted in pain,
“Did I say it's gonna burn you if you touch it?” James wondered,
“I was wearing gloves!”
“No gloves are safe from it.”
Lucas sighed as James put his whip in the hands of Aaron.
“I believe you'll take a hold of it.” He said,
“Thank you.” Aaron said, “Come on, Lucas, let's see where James wants us to go.”
“...Whatever.” Lucas said,
Outside, James showed Aaron and Lucas where The Golden Snapdragon was at, but pointed to the right side of the path.
“If you take a right, halfway, then you'll stumble across an old temple.” James said, “We don't know what the temple is about, but it does have an orb that will erase your traumatic past and can communicate with your parents souls in a positive way, one final time.”
“Guess I gotta go to whatever temple there is.” Lucas said as he walked forward, but was stopped by James, “What now?”
“I must warn you, Ringmaster of Lust. There's a plant monster controlling the wildlife here. If you see her, you must tell her where you're actually going. She is sacred to keeping The Golden Snapdragon safe from anyone.”
“...Right. I appreciate the heads-up.”
“You two may proceed, and good luck.”
“Thanks, James!” Aaron said, “Let's go, Lucas!”
Aaron and Lucas then walked to the path with whips and a sword in their hands to find an old temple with the orb with a strange power that could help Lucas. Seeking redemption and breaking free from The Dark Lord's control for Lucas has begun.
