Chapter 60: The Plant Monster Of Dead Center Forest, Prerey!
Aaron and Lucas were slowly walking down the path to where The Golden Snapdragon would be at, but were assigned to find a strange orb in an old temple first. Lucas sighed.
“Why a temple?” He wondered, “In the middle of Dead Center Forest, of all things?”
Aaron looked around with the map of Dead Center Forest in his hands.
“I don't know.” He replied as he and Lucas looked at the map, “I'm looking at this new map Mary gave me. The house we were at is right there, but I don't see any signs of a temple.”
“Strange.” Lucas said, “Is it invisible?”
“Probably.”
Lucas sighed again.
“This is a pain in the ass…” He said,
“Don't worry, Lucas, we'll get there.” Aaron said, “Just find some patience for once.”
Lucas chuckled.
“Patience.” He said as he looked down, “...Patience…”
Lucas then saw a big vine on the ground.
“Huh, where did that come from?” He wondered,
Then, the vine slithered back to the bushes, which surprised Lucas.
“Well that just happened.” He said,
“What happened?” Aaron wondered,
“Uhhh… Nothing. If I told you otherwise, then you wouldn't believe me.”
“Uhhh… Ok.”
The two continued walking as more vines appeared behind them. Some were making slithering noises loud enough for Aaron and Lucas to hear. They turned around to see them.
“Ok, THAT'S what I wanted to tell you!” Lucas shouted, “RUN!”
Aaron and Lucas then ran away from the vines, but the vines caught up to them and got them. They wrapped their ankles and arms, preventing them from escaping.
“GAH!” Aaron shouted,
“Oh, what a situation I'm in~” Lucas said, shocked and in a flirty tone,
“There's no way you're gonna start flirting…”
“I'm a Ringmaster of Lust! What else would I do?!”
A figure was walking towards them. She was a green-skinned woman with thorns on her arms and feet and with fingers made out of branches.
“Why, hello there!” The plant monster girl said, “What do we get here? Two humans in my turf?”
“I'm basically a freak…” Lucas said,
“Ok, a human and a freak are in my turf.”
Aaron gulped as the plant monster girl walked towards him with a menacing smile.
“So… What do you and your little acquaintance want?” She asked him,
“Hey, ummm, what's your name?” Aaron wondered,
“Prerey.”
“Right, Prerey, listen to us, if you must.”
“Mhmm?”
“We're not here to bother you. We're here to find an old temple with some strange orb.”
“Really? You're both searching for The Orange Orb?”
“That's the name of it?” Lucas wondered, “The Orange Orb?”
“Correct. Now, any one of you is experiencing past trauma or something? That's pretty much what The Orange Orb is here for.”
“You're looking at one right here.”
Prerey and Lucas looked at each other with menace.
“...Ok, I believe you!” She said with a giggle,
Lucas sighed frustratingly.
“Sweet… Relief.” He said,
Prerey then used her powers to control the vines that caught Aaron and Lucas to free them from her control.
“Too rough, but worth it.” Lucas said as he was feeling his wrists.
“Don't mind him, he's got Lust.” Aaron said,
“I can tell.” Prerey said as she was pointing them to another path, “Now, if you two want to find the old temple? It's simple. From here, turn to your right and keep moving forward until you stumble across a big pile of plants.”
“And then?”
“Then, two of you must step on two stone pillars to activate the temple. It's underground and you have a time limit of 1 hour, or else you're buried in the temple for God knows how long.”
“R-Right… Thanks for the heads-up, Prerey…”
Aaron and Lucas then went to where Prerey was pointing them to. Prerey then sighed and giggled menacingly.
“They don't know that me, my girlfriend and our bestie have set a trap for them…” She said with an evil smile, “They won't be making it out of that temple alive…”
