Chapter 46: The Wilderness Of Meloland
Aaron and his allies were following Justin to a park.
“Let's see… This park is named Drai Park.” Justin said, “Simple name…”
“Why are we in a park?” Aaron wondered,
“This park is known for its large forest for hiking and strolling. Maybe we'll find Cello there and he can tell us about my friends.”
“Fair…”
“This is gonna be a waste of my time.” Suzan said,
“Same here.” Huet said,
Everyone then entered the forest part of Drai Park. Aaron felt chills as a wind blew him.
“Why does this remind me of Dead Center Forest, but sinister?” He wondered,
“I'll tell you why.” Justin replied, “Like Dead Center Forest, it's home to dangerous monsters, but here…”
Justin stops everyone as they all hear some sort of growling.
“What was that? A wild animal?” Suzan wondered,
“Oh, ho ho! The wild animals and monsters here in Meloland's wilderness are much, much more dangerous!” Justin replied, “And that growling… It kinda reminds me of a certain monster…”
“And what could that monster be?” Aaron wondered,
They saw footprints appearing in front of them.
“An invisible wolf.” Justin replied quietly, “Best not to move or make any loud noises.”
The footprints then went into another part of Drai Forest. Justin sighed in relief.
“Good…” He said, “We're in the clear. Come on, let's continue the search for my friends.”
They all continued the search. Except, until, Justin stops them again as they all saw some sort of bear of some sort on two legs.
“Is that a bear?” Aaron whispered,
“Not just any bear…” Justin replied, “Don't let their backside fool you. In the front, it's a human with bear DNA.”
“Oh…”
The bear human hybrid was then sniffing. He turned around to where Aaron and his allies were watching him and saw that no one was there.
“...I couldn't swear I saw someone…” He said as he walked away,
Justin looked up from the bush and sighed in relief.
“Close call.” He said, “Alright, let's continue.”
Later, they saw a sharp-beak duck swimming near a river.
“Ooh, a sharp-beak duck!” Justin said, “They're just ducks with sharp beaks. They can use their beaks for fishing.”
“Interesting.” Suzan said, “A lot of strange creatures here. So different from Vothars.”
“Yeah, Meloland is in a planet different from Vothars.”
Then, everyone heard screeching.
“Uh-oh.” Justin said as he was surprised,
“What was that?” Aaron wondered,
“Twilight Bats.”
“Twilight Bats?” Travis wondered,
“They're bats that sleep in the night, but fly around in the day. Unlike most bats, they make horrible screeching sounds that can confuse us!”
“Well, guess we gotta run, yes?”
“No! We gotta stand perfectly still! And also to not make any noises!”
“Got it.” Aaron said, “Uhhh, do we sit on the ground?”
“Guess so!”
Everyone except Huet sat on the ground.
“Huet, come on!” Justin said,
“I'm a ghost.” Huet said, “I don't think they'll see me.”
“Justin, can these bats see ghosts?” Ghoulexis wondered,
Justin was confused as he thought for a moment. Then, Huet saw Twilight Bats flying above them and their allies and past them.
“Well… They're out of the way.” Huet said,
Justin sighed as he stopped thinking.
“Alright, I guess we'll never know.” He said as he got up, “Let's move on.”
“Guess they didn't see you, Huet.” Ghoulexis said as she got up,
“Alright then…” Huet said as they sighed, “Meloland keeps getting weirder.”
