San's POV:
I've hated every single moment of today. It was cold and downright depressing. Not many people have shown up for my father's funeral which was expected; it's just been family and his drinking buddies. However, there was someone I was shocked to see.
"Mom?"
"San, is that you?" She couldn't believe her eyes. "Oh my god, you look so different."
"You also haven't seen me in ten years." I sadly smiled. She looks different. Older, but healthier. I never bothered to get into contact with her after the divorce because I figured she'd want nothing to do with me. But she was always in my thoughts. "Is Haneul here?" I asked, referring to my older sister.
"She's around here somewhere."
"I'm shocked you even came."
"I thought it was the right thing to do." She kept looking at me up and down in complete disbelief. "I'm sorry if you think I'm staring, I just can't believe how big you are now. Have you been living with your father this whole time?"
"No, I live with my fiancé."
"You're engaged?" She gasped. I can't help but feel like she won't be so thrilled once I point them out. "Is he here?"
Wait, what?
"How did you..." I couldn't even finish my sentence, I was so confused.
"Oh come on, San, don't be silly. Even when you were little, I knew. Why do you think your father and I got into so many fights?"
"But I thought..."
"He convinced the court that his son needed his father and I was unfit to care for you."
"Mom." Haneul rushed over to us and whispered. "Isn't that Wooyoung? The model?" She pointed directly at my fiancé.
"Oh my god, it is." My mom nodded, staring at him in awe.
"Good looking guy." I nodded, trying to hide my smile.
"I never would've thought he'd know your father."
"Wooyoungie." I called out. He had been with Yeosang, Winter, and Felix huddled up in conversation. "Come here." Wooyoung walked towards me, my sister, and my mom slowly, not sure who I was about to introduce him to. "Mom, Haneul, this is Wooyoung. My fiancé."
My family and Wooyoung gasped at the same time, most likely for different reasons. The two probably couldn't believe I was engaged to a model and the one couldn't believe it was my family.
"Nice to meet you." Wooyoung smiled, immediately going in for a hug rather than a handshake. I thought the gesture was cute. "Are you sitting next to me and San during the service?"
"Sure." My mother agreed.
We found our seats soon after that. I sat in between my mom and Wooyoung, somehow feeling at peace.
"So what the hell is going on?" Wooyoung leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"I'll tell you later." I whispered back, taking his hand in mine.
"Did you know they were gonna be here?"
"Not a clue."
"Your mom is really nice, I'm shocked. Your sister seems cool too."
"They recognized you immediately." I smiled. "I don't think they've ever seen a celebrity before."
"Do you think something will come out of this?"
"Like I said, we'll talk later." I kissed his cheek softly and turned my head back towards the front of the room, listening to a man who was talking about his experience with my dad.
