"You're home early." I was shocked to see Felix sitting on the couch before me. Typically, I don't walk into the apartment till around 7pm; he's usually an hour after that. Life has been busy. Neither of us have ever worked a day in our lives because we've been spoiled for quite some time, whether it was our parents or living with Wooyoung. But now we're independent and making our own money.
"And I brought dinner." Felix smiled, holding a bag in each hand. He set them down on the coffee table and took a seat right next to me.
"You look beautiful." I gave him a small peck on the cheek, adding to the compliment. "How was work?"
"Pretty basic." He shrugged, opening the bags in front of him. "I had to do some unofficial runway practice though."
"Alright, I'm just going to throw this out in the air now since you brought it up. Wooyoung never brought San to any of his shows. If you think you're not going to let me come and see you, you better think again."
"I knew you'd say that." He playfully sighed. "But under one condition."
"Which is what?"
"You can't cry."
"Excuse me, I'm allowed to feel things." I pouted. In protest, he stuck a spoon in my mouth. "I definitely won't cry either, just saying."
"Don't talk with your mouth full."
"What, did they teach you that in model etiquette 101?"
"That media training was rough." He smiled before taking a bite of his own dinner. "It's literally mind numbing."
"Clearly."
Once Felix finished his food, he rested his head on my shoulder and took a deep sigh of relief. I'm sure he's exhausted. Him and I used to stay up for hours, but we're so drained from working all day, we'll be asleep before midnight. Looks like we're the old married couple now.
"How was work for you?"
"I feel like an idiot, but I'm still getting used to it." My specific job position is a lot more intense than I thought it'd be. I just threw out the word 'assistant' and said I'd take what I could get. I had no idea there was such a thing as a curator's assistant, but now here I am. Seulgi is really sweet so that's been helpful. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it without any issues pretty soon. Luckily for me, I've always been a quick learner. But with a job as uptight as this, I don't want to make any mistakes. Trying to be perfect is very draining.
"You're not an idiot, it's only been a few weeks."
"I guess." I rested my head on top of his and closed my eyes, similar to how he was sitting as well. We always enjoy our moments of peace whenever we can get them. "Work is hard."
"But money is rewarding."
"You wanna know the first thing I bought when I got paid?"
"What?"
"McDonald's."
"Money well spent."
"More like I don't even know what to do with it." I smiled, looking at it as a good thing. With my paychecks racking up, my first legitimate purchase was a ring. Yes, I bought one. Thankfully, San was willing to come and help me. Wooyoung said it was best for him not to, otherwise he may want a second proposal to fulfill another fantasy. I'm not exactly sure when I'll do it, but what I do know is that I made a good decision.
I love Felix. No one will ever compare to him in my eyes. From the moment I saw him, I knew he was the one. I may have only been 16, but I definitely wasn't blind. He took my breath away then, the same way he does now. We're meant to be together. We're soulmates. Even when there were times when it seemed impossible for us to ever be together again, we somehow managed to find our way back to each other. It's simply fate.
