"I'm sorry." I whispered, this time actually looking Felix in the eye. "I wasn't even thinking when I said it."

"Clearly." He had his arms crossed and looked down at his lap as he spoke. "Kinda shows your true feelings, no?"

"No." I shook my head. "What I meant was-"

"I know what you meant."

"Do you?"

He had a disgusted look on his face, offended that I'd even question him. I think it's a valid question to ask. He knows the subject well, but he could also be too clouded with emotion to truly understand.

"You don't think there's a point in adoption if they're not infants because you'd want to start a family from scratch."

"Angel, Minho was a teenager when you were adopted, your parents were in their 40's. That's the age you can adopt a teenager. When you and I adopt, or however we have kids, we can't adopt a teenager in our 20's because that's just another sibling."

"Hold on." He paused. I made sure to choose my words very carefully just now, hoping he'd catch on. "When?"

"Yes, when." I quickly said, acting like my change of heart wasn't important. I just wanted to make sure him and I were okay first. "But do you understand what I'm saying? Your situation was different because you were adopted into a formed family, we're a young couple who don't know shit."

"I get what you mean." He nodded, finally looking at me. His eyes were softer than I'm sure they were a moment ago. I put my hand on his cheek for him to lean on and rubbed it gently.

"I'm really sorry." I said quietly.

"You know I didn't mean now, right? Not even in five years. Maybe like...seven."

"I know. I just freaked out." I was glad he didn't try to struggle when I pulled him onto my lap and held him in my arms. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, feeling a little relief.

"What was San shouting about?"

"Don't worry about it." I kissed his cheek, then lowered his head on my shoulder.

"Tell me."

"It was just an idea, but Wooyoung said no."

"Does it have to do with situation?" I nodded. "Well, guess what? Wooyoung isn't your parent so he can't tell you what to do when it comes to our relationship." Typically Felix wouldn't mind Wooyoung's input because he's always wanted what's best for us, but I can understand how this is much different for him.

"Well...I suggested a surrogate. That's why San got all excited because he'd want to do that so they can have a baby that looks like them and things like that. Wooyoung said I've missed the point entirely if that's what I'd suggest."

"I mean, he's not wrong?" Felix lifted his head up with a scrunched nose as he thought about it. "But he's also not right either. Why does that suddenly change everything though?"

"Yunho told me to imagine a little Felix." I confessed and started to laugh out of embarrassment.

"You went to Yunho and Mingi's?" He was shocked. "What about Hongjoong and Seonghwa?"

"Hwa needs his beauty sleep, he has a big day tomorrow. But we're getting off track - back to little Felix. Are freckles a dominant or recessive gene?"

"Oh god." He shook his head and smiled. "They're dominant." He tapped his freckled cheeks, then kissed my nose. "You're definitely missing the point, but I don't know whether I should be mad or not because at least I think you've changed your mind."
