Wooyoung's POV:
It's been a week since I've contacted anyone from ESteem. They've left voicemail after voicemail, but I haven't answered. Part of me still isn't ready to let go, but it's for the best. I think I'm cut out for the celebrity life, but not the model life. If I could just be one of those where people question what they actually do, that would be great. But at the same time, I don't like sitting around doing nothing when I should really be working. That's also why I'm on my way to the dance studio to see Yeonjun.
I used to take classes when I was younger. I enjoyed it quite a lot too actually. But unsurprisingly, I stopped once Jimin died. That's actually why Yeonjun and I became friends though. When we met, he was still dancing. He asked me if I wanted to start back up again, but I said I didn't feel comfortable doing anything without Hyunjin. He asked his parents immediately, but they said no. So that was the end of it, I never went back.
I walked inside and went to the usual room he's in. His class was with the older teens today. They were much more disciplined and understood the choreography immediately. Although I haven't danced like this in a long time, I hope he doesn't stick me in one of his classes as a student because that would be rather embarrassing.
I tried to make my entrance subtle, but he took notice the second the door opened. I shook my head once we made eye contact, not needing him to end his class. He carried on and instructed the exhausted students to take a quick water break. He must've misread what I was trying to say, oh well.
"What's up?" He came up to me, nearly chugging half his water bottle. I noticed quite a few of the teenage girls looking at me. Yeonjun noticed too and took me out of the practice room.
"Hyunjin told me you're looking for an assistant." I awkwardly said, feeling slightly embarrassed. I've been a well known model for years and now I'm asking one of my high school best friends for a mediocre job.
"Yeah?" He said slowly, slightly concerned. "It was always me and Seonghwa so it's been a little hard doing it alone. You haven't danced since you were like...13 ish, right?" I faintly nodded, realizing this was a dumb idea. "Alright, works for me." He shrugged. "Stay and I'll teach you everything."
"Okay." I nodded.
He didn't seem curious in the slightest. Either he's happy someone finally offered to help or Hyunjin already told him what happened. Then again, Yeonjun has never been the type of person who thirsts for details.
When we got back into the room, all eyes were on me. I'm sure they're wondering how a celebrity knows their dance teacher.
"Pretend he's not here." Yeonjun said to them, waving his hand in front of me. They couldn't believe his mildly rude gesture judging by the looks on their faces. I forget that people don't look at me as a human being, I'm automatically assumed to be an entitled brat. "We're friends from high school, moving on." I'm not sure how this'll work if they're starstruck the entire time. I wasn't anticipating that part exactly. Hopefully if they see I'm just a regular person, they won't care as much. "And no one's asking for a picture either." I couldn't help but laugh at his attempt to protect my privacy.
"Yeonjun, it's okay." I smiled.
He continued on with the class while I watched in awe; he was a great instructor. He seemed to be well respected too which was relieving. I'd rather not put my time and efforts into others who don't deserve it. One of my fears is that I won't be able to keep up. I'll have no issues with authority or lending a hand, but what good am I if I can't do what he does?
The choreography he was teaching seemed advanced so I was slightly nervous. If I'm lucky, we'll start off with his less intense classes. I remember he started off teaching little toddlers with Seonghwa. I can definitely handle that, but this? We'll have to see.
