"You're back?" San was shocked. "With Kkami." He laughed. When I set him down, I expected him to run wild in the new environment, but he stood still right beside me.

I sat on the couch next to San with a very different perspective after seeing mom.

"I'm sorry." I said sincerely. "Like really sorry."

"Me too."

"No." I shook my head. "I understand where your head's been at lately and I don't blame you."

"It's still no excuse." He sighed, regretting his past actions.

"San, you've been the strong one for years. Something awful just happened to you and you finally snapped. I get it."

"Did mom just tell you or have you known? I assumed Felix told you." He sighed.

"He didn't tell me." I shook my head. "She just told me. She brought up your mom and I was completely lost."

"Yeah." He said quietly. "Saw her again at the funeral. We've talked every day since then."

Kkami started to hump my leg during our very serious moment. I knew he just wanted attention so I picked him up and put him on my lap. But he wanted nothing to do with me once he saw San, so he crawled right over and sat on him instead.

"Maybe you need a pet too." I smiled.

"I can definitely see the benefits."

"Mom said bringing Kkami home would help me emotionally so here we are."

"It's a good idea." He nodded, lightly scratching Kkami's small head.

I stood up, leaving the two, and went upstairs.

"I'm gonna make a couple calls."

"You do that."

Wooyoung better answer me, I don't care if he's at work right now.

"If I don't answer the first time, there's a reason, by the way." Wooyoung did in fact answer after I called ten times. "I really can't talk unless it's an emergency. I'm gonna be here till like 7am because they want to do a shoot with the sunrise on the beach and it's cold and I'm annoyed so-"

"How much do you know about today?"

"Wait a fucking second, how are we on the phone right now?"

"San signed me out." That tells me all I need to know. He knows absolutely nothing that's occurred.

"And why?"

"Felix is in the hospital because he got into a car accident and needs to stay overnight because of a broken arm and internal bleeding, but he's okay."

"Oh my god." He groaned dramatically.

"Also I went and visited mom and took Kkami. San and I talked about it and I have an idea. Get him a pet. You're busy and he's lonely sometimes."

"Hyunjin, why must you insist on making my day worse?" He said jokingly. "What kind of pet?"

"How should I know?" I shrugged. "Get another dog or something."

"No, Kkami is enough. I'll get him a cat for Christmas, problem solved." He sighed.

"Perfect. Next on the agenda: Minho told me about my parents and sold everyone out so thank you for that." I was pretty relaxed when I brought it up. Knowing what Wooyoung's original plan was, as well as hearing about San's dad, really calmed me down.

"Jinnie, I was going to tell you. I wanted to have a sit down with you in person. Felix didn't tell you because he didn't want you to know while you were in rehab and trying to get better. He was afraid it was going to set you back." I nodded, thinking that was actually a good reason to keep it from me. "But I need to go. I'll pick Felix up from the hospital when I leave the shoot and bring him home. We're officially settling on a cat for San so I need to pick one out." He sighed, clearly stressed out. "I cannot believe my home is an orphanage and now a damn zoo."
