Felix's POV:
Hyunjin took the car to Yeji's house so I went with Minho. Neither of us said a word the entire drive, mostly because we knew everything we were going to say should be saved for when we get to my apartment.
"I feel like I'm in a haunted hotel," was the first thing Minho said, looking around. I just realized he's never actually been here before. "Very different from San and Wooyoung's place."
"You know Hyunjin." I shrugged. "He likes things dark."
"Did he paint this?" He pointed to art on the wall.
"Everything was made by him, yeah."
"I forgot he's practically a professional." Kkami tapped his tiny paws over to Minho and started to bark. "Chill." I picked the small dog up and put him on my lap once we both sat on the couch. "Are you upset with me?" His demeanor changed, seeming much more fearful than before.
"A little bit. Hyunjin talked some sense into me though." I shrugged.
"What'd he say?"
"That you were doing what your parents told you to do." When I said your parents, I didn't mean to say they weren't mine as well, but the hurt in his eyes was evident. It probably reminded him of when he tried to make me feel like I wasn't his family just because we aren't related by blood.
"Yongbok, you need to understand that we had no idea what they were like t-"
"No, you need to understand how stupid that sounds." I smiled, feeling overly passive aggressive. "You could've asked me. I would've told you just how amazing my grandparents were when I was growing up. I missed them so much and you kept that from me."
"I was scared." He confessed, looking down at his hands on his lap. "I thought you'd want to leave and live with them, so I didn't tell you."
"But that's my real family, Minho."
"And you're mine." He looked up at me with pain in his eyes. "I didn't want you to leave."
"I wouldn't of."
"Yes, you would've. Don't lie to me."
He was right. I probably would've wanted to move back to Australia. It would've had nothing to do with Minho and my adoptive parents. But if you were given the chance to go back to the country you grew up in and live with people you knew loved you, why wouldn't you take the offer?
"But it wouldn't of been because of you, I hope you know that."
"If you would've left when they first contacted our parents, I would've blamed it all on myself."
"Great news, you don't have to worry. I'm staying in Korea, I'm not moving to Australia."
"Because of Hyunjin, I'm guessing."
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Not even because of me?"
"Minho, I'm really not trying to upset you. But I feel like there's no way around what I'm actually saying. Like yes, I would've wanted to be with the family I grew up with in my country over a family I barely knew in a completely different world where I needed to go to a new school, learn a new language, and make new friends. I don't blame you for being upset, but you're the smartest person I know. Just think about this if you were in my position."
"All I'm hearing is that you would've picked a high school crush over the family that adopted you and took care of you."
"Except you know Hyunjin was more than a high school crush even back then. Don't act like you wouldn't pick Jisung over anyone. It was him that convinced you to come back from Japan, not me."
