Xander, Willow and I decided to follow Giles to the Sunnydale Funeral Home, after I rang my mum and left a message. We saw some movement in the morgue so we went over to the window.

"AH!" Giles yelled when he saw us through the barred windows.

"Giles, it's us!" Willow told him.

"Hey." I nodded at him.

"What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?"

"We saw two guys going in after you. Are they..."

"They are!" He said, looking between us and the door. "Uh, listen, you should get to safety."

"Can you get out this window?"

"I'm afraid not."

"Look, I hate to state the obvious, but this looks like a job for Buffy?"

"Uh, she has her, her... beeping thing! Um, no phone, of course."

"Look, we'll get her, just, uh hang in there." Xander told him, while we left to go find Buffy.

"Do hurry."

We finally managed to catch Buffy with Owen and (ugh) Angel at the Bronze. "Buffy!"

"Look at this! You show up everywhere. Interesting." Owen muttered, looking at Xander.

"You don't know the half of it."

"Um, Buffy? What is he doing here?" I hissed, glaring at Angel.

"I guess it's the same thing you're doing here."

"Uh, excuse me, what are any of you doing here?"

"Look, we gotta get to, uh..." Xander started, but was interrupted by Willow kicking him. "Uhhh. We thought it'd be fun if, uh, we made this a double date!"

"I didn't know you guys were seeing each other."

"Oh, yeah, well, we knew it would happen eventually, so we figured, hey! Why fight it?"

"And you guys are thinking double?"

"Cause of... the fun!"

"And are you two together?" Owen asked, gesturing to me and Angel.

"No!" "Hell no!" Both Angel and I told him, glaring at each other.

"Ok. So you're just here because of work? And you're here because..."

"I lack plans." I explained.

"Hey, maybe we should all go somewhere together?"

"Gee, that's so nice of you to ask, but Owen and I were sort of... Owen and I."

"You know what'd be cool? The Sunnydale Funeral Home!"

"I've always wanted to go there!"

"Yes, that would be a fun experience." I added, almost robotically making everyone look at me weirdly. Did I mention that I struggle to lie under pressure. I'm better when I have time to think of what my next lie will be.

"The funeral home?"

"Actually, that sounds kinda cool! Do you think we could all sneak in?"

"We saw some guys in there before. They seemed to be having fun!"

"Bite me!" Buffy muttered under her breath. "Um, Owen, I gotta go."

"I thought we were going to the funeral home."

"No, you can't. I'll tell you what. I'll be back in a little while."

"Buffy... What's the deal? Do you wanna bail on me?"

"No! No...no...uh... You remember when you said I was like two different people? Well, one of them has to go. But the other one is having a really, really good time, and will come back. I promise."

Owen nods at her, but still looked disappointed. Unfortunately for my eyes, Buffy turned back and kissed him, before leaving with me, Willow and Xander. At least Angel looked annoyed.

We arrived at the funeral home where it seemed to be very quiet. I mean it is a funeral home, but still. "Which way?"

"The room's around back." Willow told her. We started towards the left only to be met with a dead end. "Damn it!"

"This is so cool!" Owen marvelled, appearing from behind us.

"Uh, Owen! You can't be here!"

"Oh, and I suppose you guys are allowed? What are we doing here? Are we gonna see a dead body?"

"Possibly several. Guys, watch him. Luce, you're with me."

Buffy and I made it to the morgue as we continued to look for Giles. "Giles?"

We saw his bag on the gurney and his cross. Just as I was beginning to fear the worst, one of the body drawers opened, revealing Giles.

"Giles!"

"It is you. Oh, good."

"What happened?"

"Uh, two more of the brethren came in here. They came after me. But I was more than a match for them."

"Meaning?"

"I hid. Uh, this, uh, chap was good enough to bunk with me till they went away."

"Maybe, next time, you learn to have some patience and just wait for me." I reprimanded him.

"Well, were they here after you, or was it that prophecy thing?"

"Ah, well, that's what we have to find out. I don't know what these brethren mean to do exactly. Find the Anointed, or give him something perhaps, uh, it's all very vague. And the Anointed may be long gone!"

"But he may not be."

"We must find out."

"Okay, I just need to get Owen and the others out of harm's way first."

"Owen? You brought a date? Lucy, you let her bring a date?"

"I tried to get her to take him to the movies or something, but she thought putting him in a life or death situation would be more likely to get him to jump into her arms than a scary movie." I told him sarcastically.

"I didn't bring, he came."

"Buffy, when I said you could slay vampires and have a social life, I didn't mean at the same time."

"I know. I'll get rid of him."

"Y-you can't make him go out there alone, we don't know where the brethren are. I'll just..."

"No! No, Giles, he sees you, he's gonna have more questions than he already does right now. Lucy, don't suppose you know any spells to find where all the vamps are?"

"Are you kidding me? I only know enough spells to light some candles. I'm nowhere near as powerful as my mum."

"Well, that's just perfect. Ok, I'll take care of Owen and the others, Lucy you stay with Giles." I nodded at her as she ran off to find our friends. When she came back we began looking through all the storage cells. "Eww, parts!"

"Keep looking, he must be here somewhere."

"I know I can see the future and everything, but this is not how I saw my night going." There was only one storage cell left, unfortunately it was empty too. "Nothing."

"The Anointed must be gone."

"I guess. I mean, this is where they keep all the dead bodies, right?"
