Giles, Buffy and I were in the library. Apparently, Xander had been especially cruel to Willow and Buffy was concerned.

"Xander's taken to teasing the less fortunate."

"Uh-huh."

"And, there's been a noticeable change in both clothing and demeanour?"

"Yes."

"And, well, otherwise all his spare time is spent lounging about with imbeciles."

"It's bad, isn't it."

"It's devastating. He's turned into a sixteen-year-old boy. Course, you'll have to kill him."

"Giles, I'm serious."

"So am I. Except for the part about killing him."

"Are you sure?" I whined, causing Giles to roll his eyes.

"Testosterone is a great equalizer. It turns all men into morons. He will, however, get over it."

"I cannot believe that you, of all people, are trying to Scully me. There is something supernatural at work here. Get your books! Look stuff up!"

"Look under what?"

"I don't know. That's your department."

"The evidence that you've presented me with is sketchy at best."

"He scared the pig... Well, he did..."

"Buffy, boys can be cruel. They, they... what?" Oh, if you're wondering why Giles stopped talking it's because Buffy finally noticed that I was about to collapse and rushed over to catch me. Thanks for nothing Giles.

I saw flashes of Xander, Kyle and the others, flashing eyes, some weird symbol on the floor, the hyena exhibit... oh crap.

"Luce! Lucy! Are you ok?" Buffy's voice started to bring me back.

"Here, sit down. I'll grab you some water." Giles said, pulling up a chair for me.

"Alright, while you're there why don't you grab yourself some humble pie."

"You had a vision about Xander?" Buffy asked.

"Yep. I saw Xander and his new besties, along with that freaky hyena exhibit and some flashing eyes. I'd say you were right with the supernatural theory Mulder."

"You're saying that, uh, Xander's becoming a hyena."

"Or been possessed by one. I don't know these visions don't exactly come with an audio commentary. And it's not just Xander. God, I should have known from the smell."

"Smell?"

"Y-yeah, Xander and Kyle keep smelling me. I just assumed that was a guy thing."

"Well, I've certainly never heard of..."

"Herbert!" Willow exclaimed as she rushed into the library. "They found him."

"The pig?"

"Yeah, Willow as fascinating as this is, we were kind of in the middle of..."

"Dead. And also eaten. Principal Flutie's freaking out."

"Ah, well. I withdraw my previous statement."

"Testerone, huh?" We all looked at Giles, who had the decency to look a little ashamed, before heading over to the stairs.

"What're you going to do?"

"Get my books. Look stuff up." Team slayer 1- team watcher 0.

We were still in the library researching about hyenas. I mean all we really need to know is that they are a psychotic little killing machines.

"Wow! Apparently Noah rejected the hyenas from the Ark because he thought they were an evil impure mixture of dogs and cats."

"Hyenas aren't well liked."

"They do seem to be the schmoes of the animal kingdom."

"Yeah, well, they're violent little scavengers. Not exactly the best thing to come out of nature. That's why they're the bad guys in Lion King."

"Why couldn't Xander be possessed by a puppy or, or some ducks?" Willow pouted.

"That's assuming 'possession' is the right word."

"Oh, I'll say it is. The Masai of the Serengeti have spoken of animal possession for, for generations. I... I should have remembered that."

"So how does it work?"

"Well, apparently there's a, a sect of animal worshipers known as Primals. They believe that humanity, uh, consciousness, uh, the soul, is a perversion, a dilution of spirit. Uh, to them the animal state is holy. They are able, through trans-possession, to draw the spirit of certain animal into themselves."

"And then they started acting like hyenas."

"Well, only the most predatory of animals are, are of interest to the Primals, so, uh, yes, yes, that would fit, yes."

"So, what happens to the person once the spirit's in them?"

"If it goes unchecked..." Giles started before showing Buffy a page in his book, which caused Buffy to rush off.

"I gotta find Xander." As Buffy ran off, Willow and I peeked at the page Buffy was looking at and saw pretty much a massacre.

Willow and I continued to look for something that might help Xander, Kyle and the others. Suddenly, I was gripping my head as I saw flashes of Xander attacking Buffy. When it was finally over, and I opened my eyes I saw Willow looking at me with concern.

"Are you ok? What happened? Was that a vision? Was it Xander? Where are you going?" I ignored Willow's questions, even though I'm pretty sure she was running out of breath, as I ran out to find Buffy.

When I got to the faculty room I saw Xander pinning Buffy to a vending machine. I grabbed him roughly and threw him across to the other side of the room. Xander got up glaring at me, growling, as I stood my ground against.

"Come on, Luce. You finally going to tell me what the hell you are? I'm mean I already know you're a freak, but..." Thankfully, he was interrupted by Buffy slamming a desk over his head.

"Nice."
