Smut ahead.
I'd dressed quickly and left the hexed sleeping quarters and entered the classroom. The smell of the ten boiling cauldrons filled my nostrils immediately, making me feel nauseated. But I ignored it to the best of my ability as I stalked for the desk where Snape had sat down looking unusually disquiet.
«Why would you just leave like that?», I exclaimed and patted down my skirt to make sure it was all in place.
He remained quiet. I got up to him and put a hand on his shoulder, only to have him shy away and glare at me, «don't».
I frowned, «what? If I have it then surely you do too. In fact, you would've been the one to give it to me!»
«I suspect you might have given it to me», he murmured slowly and ran his fingers over his face in frustration.
«Wait, what? I am here because you were exposed to dragon pox, not the opposite», I protested.
«I am not talking about dragon pox, Leonie», Professor Snape said and crossed his legs under the desk, now twirling a quill between his fingers.
I parted my lips to speak, raised a finger to make a point, but felt too confused to get a word out. Clicking my mouth shut again I scratched the back of my head, «you're not?»
«Did you kiss Zabini?», he suddenly asked, his voice low and dangerous.
«Did you hit your head? Or have a stroke? We were about to have sex just now and you're thinking about Blaise?», I exclaimed and stared at him, trying to regain the eye contact, but he refused to look at me. He stared at his fingers as he kept tapping the quill against the desk's surface.
«Answer the question», Snape drawled and cleared his throat.
I groaned in annoyance, «yes! Yes, I kissed him in the library the other day. Why do you care?»
His eyes darted back and forth while he kept staring at the quill, as if he was figuring out some invisible math equation.
«You have Magical Mono, Leonie», he said and sighed, leaning back into his seat, finally looking at me.
«The what now?», I asked, «I thought it was dragon pox?»
He shook his head only slightly, «no. Dragon pox gives a green and purple rash. On occation it can, of course, give a greenish tinge only..», he began, «but you specifically have green spots».
I grabbed a chair and dragged it closer to the desk. The noise it made as its legs scraped against the floor made Snape furrow his eyebrows at me. «Okay, is it fatal?», I asked as I sat down, «and what's it got to do with Blaise?»
«No, it's not», he simply said, ignoring the second question.
«Then why do you look like you want to kill me instead of fuck me?», I asked and tilted my head to the side with a fake smile on my face.
He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, «Magical Mono or Magical Mononucleosis is a highly infectious magical disease, so it often leads to massive outbreaks», he pointed out, «it spreads by kissing. And it's distinguished by coloured spots in the skin corresponding to the house of the person who gave the disease to you».
My smile faded, «so Blaise gave it to me?», I asked, «and you think I've given it to you?»
«Obviously», Snape replied slowly.
«What's the other symptoms?», I asked, «how long will it last?»
He let out another sigh, «having no health classes at Hogwarts is stark raving mad», he muttered under his breath in frustration.
