Stella went to change and laid down on the bed. She felt like she didn't have to take any sleep medicine today. She fell asleep thinking about Alice and thier past.
She woke up early because of alarm. She woke up earlier than usual as she wanted to make a proper breakfast for Alice. She prepared the base for french toast and then went out to buy bread. There was a grogery store at walking distance. She also bought toast and milk. Then she made hot milk coffee for both of them.
Alice liked her coffee to be just in between the bitter and sweet part. So she just put enough sugar to take away the bitterness but not make it sweert either. She had also finished making the fresh toast. Seeing that it was almost seven am, she began to get restless.
Most people have office at 8 am in the morning so they would have breakfast around seven. She was just really afraid that Alice would ignore her again. That she would not want anything to do with her like before and would disappear.
Just as she was making a mess in her mind, the bell rang. It was right on seven. Stella quickly got up and opened the door with a huge smile. Seeing Alice standing in white suit with black shirt underneath, all dressed up and ready with her hair flowing down, she felt her heart flutter.
" Good morning. Come in."
Alice stepped inside and bent down o take off her shoes. Her hair fell down so she pushed them behind her ear with one hand as the other held the wall.
They went to the dining table. Stella told her to wash her hands and she'll take out the breakfast. She reheated the coffee on stove and the french toast were still hot. She put a small slice of butter on them and took them out. The coffee was also hot by now so she took it out and they sat down together. There was apple and pears cut on the table too.
Alice looked at the dishes and then at Stella in front of her who was smiling like a fool.
" You didn't have to make so much."
" It wasn't anything at all. I would have made a proper dish but I know you like this the best in the morning."
Alice always liked this type of breakfast. She wanted fruits and bread toast or anything. Her favourite was french toast and Spanish omlet. Since she didn't have much vegetables, she made french toast.
Alice felt touched because everything was so perfectly in line with her taste. Stella remembered even the little details anyone would have forgotten and that made her wonder if Stella truly still loves her.
" Thank you for the food." Alice said as she dig down on food.
After eating, Stella went to get some stuff and came out. They went out together. As they stood in front of Alice's, Stella asked her.
" You are taking metro?"
" Yeah I didn't get a car yet."
" Then I'll drop you off."
" No. You'll get late for the office."
" I won't. Since I am here, you don't have to take the metro again. There are not good people their."
" Alice, more than half of the population of this country rides on metro. There are bad people but many like me too. And more importantly, don't you know how strong I am? I can defend myself easily if I encounter a bad situation."
" I know Stella. But with me being here, I cannot let you go on the metro. Come with me or we will really be late."
" Alright."
Alice took her to the hospital. She realised that it is quite near her office. She stopped her car but Stella wasn't getting out of the car. She looked at her confusedly.
" What's wrong?"
Stella looked at her and smiled. Alice couldn't understand what that smile meant. It wasn't a happy smile nor did it look sad. It was like she was smiling at herself.
