The next day come. She just got ready when her door bell rang. She was surprised. It should be Alice but she never come here unless she invited her. She opened the door and it was really her. She asked.

" Alice, how come you took the initiative to approach me? "

" I made breakfast. Wanted to ask if you want it to."

" Of course! You've learned to cook? You don't know how many times I dreamed about eating food that you specially made for me. I always imagined how would you be as a cook!"

Alice smiled and said nothing. How would Stella know what she did for her? She who never stepped foot in kitchen, her mother herself knows very little about cooking, such a person has learned to make Stellas every favorite dish.

Growing up in America for five years, anyone would expect her to know foreign dishes but she was actually an expert at local dishes. Because that was what Stella liked. She learned it all for her.

She loved cooking for Stella. She loved seeing Stella stuff herself until she can't. She loved the way Stella would get happy for her. Those were times she would always remember. Time that she would always treasure.

They went to Alice's place. Usually, Alice comes to hers and they never had a meal at her place. So Stella felt happy to eat at her place.

Stella made local dishes. It was eggs and a different type of bread that was only available in their country.

Stella felt her heart warming. Just like she knows what Alice likes in breakfast, so does Alice know what she likes in breakfast. She liked to est eggs or some light curry with that local bread. It was a square shaped bread baked only in this city. You can say it was one of the speciality of this place.

" Wow. It looks delicious. Than you Alice for inviting me to the breakfast." The moment she saw what Alice made, Stella was sure that she specifically made it for her and didn't just randomly invite her.

" It's okay. You've invited me many times too. I am just returning the favour."

Though Stella didn't like what she said, she also knew that it was an excuse Alice was using.

Alice was the type of person who refuses to take favors. She rarely asks anyone for anything. If she does take a favor of someone, she wouldn't take a moment to return it. She also knew that Alice would never consider it a favor when her family or her lover does something for her. And she would hate it if they consider something she did as a favor. So when she said that, Stella didn't take her word seriously and spoil the mood.

Like everyday, Alice was leaving. She forgot Stella had night shift from today onwards. When she asked her to come along, Stella reminded her that she is not coming.

" Then why are you all dressed up?"

" I am going to my Mothers place. And these coming weekend, I'll stay with her. It's been a while since I spent some time with her."

" Okay."

" It seems like we won't get much time together. Take care of your meals and drive safely."

" Hmm."

Alice left as Stella send her off. Seeing her car gone, Stella called for a Taxi and went to her mothers home. They lived in the same place since she was young. Only in college did she shift to the dorm and now she had to rent a place near the hospital. Otherwise she would have preferred to stay with her beloved mother.

Her mother was the best person she has ever seen and she loves her mother beyond her life. Her mother has given her everything. She worked hard for her and she loved her the most.

At first when she started living alone here, she felt sad. Before she had her mother and then dormates. Now when she was suddenly alone, life seemed more lonely and empty. And those feelings reminds her of Alice. But the moment she saw Alice, she knew it was their destiny and she was thankful to the heavens.
