She went inside and saw her mother standing with some snacks in front of the in a daze. She called her out.
" Mama?"
" Oh. Stella, your here... "
" Yeah. Mama, is everything alright? What are you thinking?"
" Nothing... It's just, is she the same Alice? Is she Alice Waltman?"
" Yes Mama. She's back."
" Stella, are you sure? After she left you? I mean are you sure she won't hurt you again?"
" Mama, we've resolved all our issues. She had no option when she left. I can't tell you what it was but we also had a little misunderstanding in between us because of which she didn't contact me for all this times. I accidentally crossed paths with her after all this year's and we finally got to talk. Mama, she loves me just as much I love her. She suffered a lot too just like I did. And Mama, believe me, she's not just a good partner, Mama she is the most beautiful person I've seen. Her heart is pure like gold and she is very simple. She feels sad over little things and she would be happy with little things. I am not saying this as her lover. Of course I'd be biased but Alice is like water. She'll get filled into whatever we want and adopt its shape just like water becomes like in the ice plates.
I am just asking you to not think of her wrongly. I am asking you to slowly judge her. I assure you that it won't take long for you to love her. Maybe you might even love her more than me once you get to know her."
" I don't know about that Stella. But a mother can never love someone more than her child. More than her daughter." Celina looked at her with a complicated gaze as she said.
Stella smiled simply at that and replied.
" I know Mama. I know but what if she just becomes your daughter? Will you be able to resist loving her than?"
Her words rendered Celina speechless. She rarely lost in verbal arguments but she was really left speechless by her words. Finally, she calmed down and thought with a cool mind and told Stella.
" Here. Take these snacks out for her. I'll be there with the juice."
Stella smiled and nodded. She went out with the snacks. Celina leaned behind on the counter and pondered over the situation. She felt a little upset as she witnessed the pain her daughter went through because Alice left her without a word. But from what she saw, Alice seemed to be a very gentle and kind person. She didn't look like someone who would do something so wrong. And if she did take such a decision, then as Stella said, she must've been in a really helpless situation. There misunderstanding made things worse. Therefore, she should give her a chance and get to know her. If she's really bad for Stella, then she'll see what to do. But what if she is good for her and made her daughter stay this happy forever. That would be for the best.
Maybe Stella made up this story or lied about some parts to protect her lover but she'll know when she observes her.
Celina had been a journalist for more than a decade and she was a well known journalist. She had many connections and she had great reputation for being insightful. Though journalists are not as good as detectives or police in understanding or judging people, but they are quite sharp themselves.
When there is something fishy going on, they catch it quite quickly and often work alongside the police to get the latest hand in news.
Regardless of all, she just hopes that Alice proves to be really good for Stella. Even if she did something wrong in past, but if she can prove to be good for Stella and bring Stella all the happiness she yearns for, then she could overlook the past.
Celina took out the places and poured mango juice into them before bringing it out. She had calmed down and digested the shocking news.
