Deceived Me

Chapter 42:

If this person is the one she loved many years ago, they weren't sure how they should react. Alice mother finally asked her.

" Who was that? A friend?"

" ...Yeah. She's important to me." Alice didn't say anything more as she had no plans to introduce Stella just yet.

Stella hung up and sat in a daze for a while. Then she finally went back. When she reached home, she had no appetite and went to take a shower first. After that, she researched her work related matters.

She went to bed at midnight and couldn't fall asleep. This sleepinees and this loneliness in the darkness of night reminded her of the countless nights she has spends in the memories of her beloved.

On the other side, Alice was really tired but many things were going on in her mind so she didn't fall asleep right after. While talking with her parents, they told her that her grandparents also knew and would come to visit her once she has stabilized.

While they were talking, Alice suddenly thought of something and asked her parents a little anxiously.

" Mom, Dad, which hospital is this?"

" It's Glory Hospital. The nearest one from our office."

Alice's eyes widened. Did Stella see her? But it didn't seem like she did. She needs to leave soon. She might get caught by Stella.

" Dad, please make arrangements for me to leave this hospital. Transfer me to the one near home. I don't want to stay here."

" Why? This is one of the best hospitals of our city. Don't worry about us. It's not inconvenient for us."

" I don't want to. Please don't ask me questions and juts transfer me."

" Alright. I'll make some calls."

" I want to be transferred before the night passes."

" Okay... " Her parents were confused by her reaction but didn't want to bother her as she was already so sick.

With the help of her parents, she was transferred overnight to another hospital which was at least an hour away. She fell asleep soon as she was very tired because of her accident.

When she woke up in the morning, it was around 7 am. She checked her phone to see if she received any message from Stella. She didn't. She hesitated for a moment and messaged her.

[ Alice: Good morning. Are you having breakfast?]

Stella didn't reply. Alice sighed and went to wash up. Her mother was sleeping on the sofa. She brushed and washed her face and came back. She wasn't allowed to bath now. She saw that her mothers quilt has slipped down a little and limped as she walked with support and helped her cover up.

When she went back to bed, she saw that Stella replied back and said.

[ Stella: I was bathing. I just came out. I'll just eat something at the hospital.]

[ Alice: Why? Isn't there some fruits and eggs left in the refrigerator? We also had some bread and other stuff.]

[ Stella: Yeah but I don't feel like making anything. I am also not feeling hungry. I'll just have coffee and a sandwich from the cafeteria in hospital.]

[ Alice: Alright. Just make sure to eat healthy food. Your job is quite tiring.]

[ Stella: Yes. What about you? Did you eat breakfast yet?]

[ Alice: No. I just woke up a few minutes ago. I'll eat something light as well.]

[ Stella: Yes and take care of yourself. Your father is with you right? He'll probably take care of you well. Since this is a business trip, focus on work but don't ignore your health. It must be quite urgent as you left so suddenly.]

[ Alice: Yeah... It was quite sudden. But don't worry since my Dad is here with me, I don't have to carry all the work myself. It's not too hectic.]

[ Stella: Thats good.]

[ Alice: It's about time for you to leave. Are you going to drive yourself?]

[ Stella: Yes. Why?]

[ Alice: It's nothing. Just drive safely. Make sure to eat something before you start working and don't forget to text me when you reach the hospital, okay?]

[ Stella: Okay. Take care of yourself too. Let's talk again tonight if you are free.]

[ Alice: Yes. I'll call you after dinner. Bye.]

[ Stella: Bye.]
