Deceived Me

Chapter 47:

Harry and Juliet were quite overwhelmed by the information she gave. Alice already met Stella's mother. They loved each other for more than five years despite being together for barely one year. They went through the worst one could in a relationship and still got back together.

The fact that they lived across each other in the same building, such a faithful encounter and their story was something they never thought their daughter would go through. But above all, they were mostly relieved to hear that she was happy now and everything was okay.

After a moment of silence, they told her.

" That's... That's great dear. We are happy as long as your happy. When you were in high school, we suspected you were in love but we were not sure. When you said you wanted to leave all of a sudden, I had a feeling that it's related to your relationship. However, seeing your condition, I didn't dare to ask you.

When you told us that you like a girl, I was quite surprised honestly. I never thought of that possibility. I did always think that no one seems to match you. However, I am not against your relationship.

It's very good that you already met her mother and introduced yourself. It also means that your both serious about your relationship. I am happy for you, dear.

There's just one thing, as your parents we are concerned about. Though we have no problem with you liking girls, but as a parent, as your mother, I hoped that you wouldn't have to face the world, Alice.

As you know, the world still doesn't accept homosexuality. In some places, there are even people who are extremist. That's the only thing I am worried about. I wanted my daughter to have everything she wants. But more than that, I wanted you to live a happy and beautiful like without torns in your way. I wanted to keep you away from the world."

Alice felt warm hearing her mothers concerns. Of course she understood their position as parents. Their support was all she needed. She didn't expect them to have no concerns at all.

" I understand, Mom. When I first realised how this works viewed us, I was also scared. But very soon, I realised that this so called path with thorns is the one I am happy to walk in. This thorns won't hurt me as long as she's by my side. However, as I walked on the plain path without any thorns the last few years without her, I wasnt hurt by thorns. I was burnt by fire.

When I misunderstood her and went to States, I tried day and night as I missed her, to hate her, if not, then forget her. If not even that, then resent her. But Mom, I completely failed in doing any of that. Not an ounce of love for her died in me. It didn't even calm down. I realised the moment I laid my eyes on her again that I wanted nothing more that to watch her even if not as the rightful one.

But our love conquered our hate. We both tried to have each other and forget each other and we both failed. And then when we got together, it was like our whole world which had fallen apart, which we were trying to keep together on the foundation of a little thing called hope, our world miraculously came together and become the strongest foundation we ever had.

Even if the world stands against me, I'll still love her. And if the world stands against her, I'll stood by her side and protect her. If they try to stand in between our love, I'll abandon them. I just want to live a simple and happy life with the person I love. So please, try to understand where I am coming from. I really love her, Mom and Dad.

If possible, I want to introduce both of you to her as my parents. I also wish to marry her in the future. I want everyone to know what she means to me."
