Harry and Juliet asked her if they could talk to her. Alice was surprised but seeing the seriousness in their eyes, she nodded her head and sat straight attentively. She had a feeling about what they wanted to ask.
Juliet sat down beside her on the bed as her father stood behind her. She grabbed her hand and rubbed it gently as she said.
" Alice, we know you might not want to talk about it but we don't want to interfere or ask you to do anything. We just want to know what's going on with your life. We've been very anxious about you since you changed overnight. Can you please tell us? We won't say anything. We just want to be informed so that in future when something like this happens, we will know what to do. We want to know what the person you called friend means to you and if we should do anything to help you."
Alice felt warm hearing the concern in her parents voice. She of course knew her parents won't do anything to harm her. They always gave in to her and spoiled her.
She hesitated and looked at her parents. They looked back at her with utmost trust and love. It made her feel safe. She finally took a deep breathe and looked at then sincerely as she confessed.
" Mom, Dad, I've someone that I like, no, someone I loved for more than five years. We met in high school. But before I told you about our story, I wants to tell you that... That the one I love is a girl. I don't think I like boys or girls in particular. She's the only one I've ever felt attracted to. I didn't know how would you react and we broke up before I got the chance to tell you."
Harry and Juliet we're very surprised. They didn't know much about Alice's love life. Even though they suspected that she's in love when she was in high school, they could've never guessed that she likes girls.
Alice wasn't the type to share her life with others. Moreover, she was a single child. No matter how close your with your parents, there are certain things children likes to share with their siblings or friends. Like the matters relating to love. Alice just never seemed the type to like a girl. But now that they think about it, she never seemed to fit in the same frame as a boy either. They just thought that her type of person has yet to come in her life.
After a moment of silence, Juliet held her hand tighter and said emotionally.
" Okay. Go on."
" so you guys don't have any problem with me liking a girl, right?" Alice asked a little nervously.
They both nodded. They felt a little emotional hearing their daughter open up to them for once.
" Thank you, Mom and Dad. I am fortunate to have you guys as my parents." Alice really considered herself lucky. How many people like her were rejected in this world by their own blood. She was lucky to have such parents.
" When I was in sophomore year of high school, a new girl transferred to our school from another city. She instantly blended with others and become famous in our school. Her name is Stella. Stella Westlyn.
She's currently interning at Glory hospital. She become a doctor. We fell in love in the third year and got together soon after. We spend a beautiful time together.
After finishing high school, I suddenly heard something because of which I left so suddenly all those years ago. I misunderstood her. I met her again when I came back. She lived on the same floor as me. We were both shocked. Turns out she has been waiting for me. She still loved me the same or more than ever.
A terrible misunderstanding caused me to think she doesn't love me. But even after five years apart with no contact, she truly loves me the same. She remembers everything about me. She never loved anyone other than me and till the date, she has never lied to me.
After a few days, we got back together. We had a few issues but we talked it out. She was also upset that I left without confronting her. The day before tomorrow, before getting into the accident, I dropped her to the hospital. She told me to text her when I reach safely. But I got into accident and she couldn't contact me. She was really worried about me and was also scared of history repeating itself.
A few days ago, I also met her mother. She introduced me officially. We are very happy now."
