Deceived Me

Chapter 40:

" I'll pray to never cross paths with you again." That's the last thing Alive said to Stella before they parted ways.

' Bang'

A car and a mini truck collided with a loud bang. The car screeched and hit the streetlight. Blood trailed down her face and dripped down her chin. She was dizzy and slowly climbed out. She Geoff hr car for support and walked out. Her phone in the pocket rang.

People had already gathered around and it was noisy. She took out her phone and wanted to answer it but it suddenly slipped out of her hand and she collapsed.

People come forward to hold her and someone called the ambulance. Seeing her phone rang, a person picked it up seeing that it shows 'Dad'

" Hello?"

" ...Who is this? Ain't this my daughters phone?"

" Her car collided with a truck just now. We've called an ambulance. She's in a be condition."

" ...Ding ding ding."

The ambulance came soon and Alice was taken to the nearest hospital. It was the one Stella works at. They didn't cross paths and alice was directly taken into the operation room.

A few minutes after, her father ran in looking haggard and worn out in his shining suit. His hair was a little mess and his eyes red. The operation went on. Soon after, hurried footsteps sounded.

Alice's mother also came. She was also dressed formally but now she looked like a mess. They didn't dare tell Alice's grandfather as he wouldn't be able to take. They'll let him know after the operation.

The operation went on for hours. Stella was busy working and once in a while checked her phone. Seeing Alice has not messaged her, she felt an ominous feeling and messaged her asking if she reached her home. When she didn't reply until the afternoon, she even called but no one picked up.

Meanwhile, the operation was finally over around afternoon. The doctor came out and told them.

" It was a bad accident. Thanks to arriving so early, we were able to save her. She had concussion and her shoulder is fractured. She also has a big cut near her collarbone. Also, her legs will hurt for a few days as she tries to walk but this are all small matters. She's safe and will be back to normal after recuperation. We have to wait for her to woke up. She'll probably wake up tonight. And she will be admitted for the entire week with complete rest. And the necmxt week, she also has to stay at home. After that she can start with her daily routine slowly."

The words of the doctor rang in their ears. Her father sighed tiredly but politely thanked the doctor.

" Thank you. Thanks you so much for saving our child."

Her mother also returned to her senses and thanked the doctor. After the doctor left, her father told her that he is going to pay the bills.

After a while he came back. He saw that she was still frozen where he left her and supported her to sit down. He console her as he said that she'll be alright. He then made a few calls.

A while later, his assistant arrived with a few clothes and things they might need. Her father also helped her call her office and inform that she will be on leave for a few days. Alice's mother was a very successful lawyer and had her own office.

After that, he somehow convinced her to change and take care of herself as Alice would need someone to take care of her.

He also went to the washroom to calm down and then called his assistant. Be told him to bring something light to eat as they would need energy.

He then went back and waited for his wife. When she finally come back after a long time, she had red eyes. She must've cried in the bathroom. He looked at her sympathetically and after they sat down, he told her.

" I'll call our parents. She's out of danger already. They'll be upset if we told then any later."

" ...Alright "

Meanwhile, Stella spend the day like that. When she was finally done with work, she called Alice.

Alice didn't pick up. She got worried and went out. Alice wasn't there. She began to feel really bad. Since they got back together, Alice picked her up everyday. This was the first time she didn't come and what was more worrying is that she didn't even message that she won't be able to coen or she'll be late.
