She knows Stella more than herself. She has never doubted Stella's character. Stella is a women of virtue. She comes off as someone who's not serious about life but Stella is the type to take things easy. It comes off as if she doesn't care about things.

The truth is, Stella is a very determined person underneath. She's someone who'd act like an adult since she was 10 cause she realised her mother needed someone. She's someone who would stand against the world if it comes to her people.

For those she treasure, she could do anything. There are no boundaries that will stop her. If Stella comes to love someone, Alice has firsthand witnessed how on top of the world that person would feel. Stella makes you feel as if the world in within our fist.

It's just that, the same person who put the world beneath her, took away her world too. She put her higher than the world and then she pulled her down just as fast. But she still loves her. That she ain't mistaken about.

Should she just live happily like nothing ever happened? And just be prepared that someday they'll part ways again. Maybe then she will have a lot to go on with. Maybe then she can live with her memories alone. Just like she's been doing since then.

The day passed by. They were both busy at work. Alice left work right on time. She reached the hospital and called Stella.

Stella just came out of the surgery. She just accompanied from the sides. She was still an intern.

Stella did end up becoming a doctor and a pediatrician but she can't bear to see a child pass away. It takes her more than a day to get over it. That's why, whenever a patient with terminal illness comes, or the hospital discovers that illness of their, her heart breaks.

She talked happily with her senior and went back to her office. She saw Alice's miss call and 15 minutes has passed since she called. She was really surprised and flattered at the same time.

She quickly called back. Alice picked up on the first ring.

" Alice?"

" Yes."

" You called!"

" Yeah. I came to pick you up."

" Really?! Wait I'll be out in 5 minutes."

" Okay."

Stella finished getting packed up in minutes and excitedly rushed out. She didn't expect Alice to come and pick her up.

She saw Alice car and quickly opened it. She sat down and looked at Alice with a smile. Alice smiled back but behind that smile, there was tiredness.

" Hi. I am back. Why didn't you call me before you come? What if I was busy?"

" Oh. Sorry I didn't think about that." Alice felt like Stella meant to not interrupt her plans coming uninvited.

" No need to apologise. It's just that sometimes when were in the surgery, it takes time. So like today you'll have to wait without knowing when I'll come."

" That's fine with me. And I'll call you."

" It's okay. You have all the rights to pick me up. I just don't want you to wait."

" I am used to waiting. Don't worry about that."

" Really? Why do you say that? Who made you wait?"

' You. I waited a lifetime for you.'

" ...No one in particular."

Stella was suspicious but didn't think much about it. She didn't thought it was her as practically she waited all these years for Alice.

Alice drove them home. They stopped by a restaurant and ordered takeaway. After going home, they had dinner together and parted ways.

A few days passed and things were just like that between them. Alice would pick and drop her. They would have dinner together and sometimes breakfast. They would talk casually while they are together.

They would no more talk about their past or about them. As if avoiding what they really are to each other. There wasn't any physical contact or anything.

This began to get to Stella. When Alice had agreed to not avoid her, she thought she was giving her a chance. But now it feels like she become more stranger than she was before.

Even while they are together, it feels like they are apart. They were in the same room, in the same space but it felt like they were in different worlds.
