Deceived Me

Chapter 45:

Stella finished her food and went to study on her computer. After a while she went to sleep. The next morning she woke up as usual.

It's almost every ones habit to check their phone the first thing. She also opened her phone. She received Alice's message just a few minutes a a ago.

[ Alice: Good Morning.]

Seeing that message, a warm feeling filled her heart. She replied back and went to get ready. After that, she took off early to the hospital and called Alice once she started the car.

" Hello?"

" Good morning Alice~ "

" Good morning."

" I am on my way to hospital. I thought I would call you. Your not busy right?"

" No. I've yet to go out. I haven't had breakfast yet. "

" You should go and have breakfast then. I'll eat at the hospital cafeteria as usual."

" Why do you keep eating outside? It's not healthy." Alice said worriedly. Stella smiled and replied as she took a turn.

" What can I do? Without you, I don't even feel like eating let alone making the breakfast."

Alice was stunned but then she smiled shyly. Her mother just went to wash up and said she'll bring breakfast.

Stella smiled on the other side and said in a sincere tone.

" I want to have all the breakfasts of my life together with you."

Hearing that, Alice blushed profusely and looked down shyly. Her eyelashes fluttered and she couldn't reply.

Just as they were in a stalemate, Alice's mother come in. She was a little surprised to see Alice's expression. But seeing the way her eyes overflowed with happiness, she was happy for her yet worried at the same time.

Seeing her mother come in, Alice quickly changed her expression and pretended to ask nonchalantly.

" Mom, your back?"

" Yeah. Let's have breakfast."

" Okay. Give me a minute to wash up."

Alice then got up and with the help of crutches and went to the washroom. Her mother wanted to help her but she told her she can handle it.

Stella also stopped talking when she heard Alice's mother. She arrived at the hospital and waited in the car. After Alice entered the washroom, she called her.

" Hello?"

" Yeah. I am here."

" My Mom just came in."

" I heard her. She also came with you? I thought you were on a business trip."

Alice was stunned. She thought about what to say for a moment and replied.

" No. She came later as my Dad got a little sick. He had a fever."

" Is he alright? How did he got sick right after arriving? Is he over working himself? Your Mom must be quite worried."

" Yes. He's okay now. It maybe because he didn't travel for a while. But it's nothing serious. I think he caught a cold."

" Still, you should take him to the hospital."

" Yes. We are planning to do that." Alice felt quite terrible for lying. She didn't want to but she was. Then she told Stella.

" You mustve reached hospital by now. Go and have breakfast. We'll talk later."

" Alright. Take care and don't get sick."

After hanging up, Stella felt a little weird. She had a feeling Alice was hiding something from the way she was talking. She trusted her and knew she would never wrong her but she still felt like she was hiding something important from her. Or maybe she was overthinking. She was already acting quite immaturely when it comes to Alice.

The day went by just like that. After dinner, Alice and Stella talked for a while. When she hung up, Alice's parents told her that they wanted to talk to her.
