Stella reached her home. It was a small and simple two story building. Her mother bought this home on installments. She had saved money for buying a house so when they shifted to headquarters in her high school, her mother paid the down payment and finished paying the installment in her second year of college.
She knocked on the door. She had asked her mother to take a vacation today so they could spend some time together. Her shifts starts after dinner so she could have dinner with her mom before she goes.
Her mother opened the door and the moment they saw each other, they smiled. Stella stepped forward and hugged her.
" Mama, I missed you a lot."
" I missed you too dear."
Her mother was an elegant lady with amazing looks. She was charismatic and had this intelligent vibes. She was a journalist and a successful one at that. She looked a lot like her mother. They had same hair and eyes. Her facial features were mixed though. She looked like her mother but a little different.
Her mother was in her early forty and she was still beautiful. They were the only ones for each other and they truly cared for one another.
Her mothers name was Celina Westlyn. She was very educated and career oriented women. Now she earned enough to not worry about things. Seeing the daughter home after a long time really brightened her mood.
They went in together and chatted casually. While talking, Stella told her mother.
" Mama, I am thinking about buying a car. I've some money saved up from working part-time and the rest I can pay in installments."
" You don't need to. I have some money saved up. We can take a little from there and pay for your car."
" No you must've saved the money for something specific. Don't disturb it. It's your lifelong savings."
" Stella, what else can I save it for? I saved it for you. Actually for your wedding whenever it may happen. So since you don't have any plans to marry anytime soon, use it. I'll save it up again until you marry."
" Mama! Why did you do that? What if I never got married? I told you to stop thinking about me and enjoy your life. Spend on yourself. You've already wasted your whole life for my sake."
" Don't say that Stella. Living for your sake was the thing I love the most. How can you call it a waste? Now don't worry about this little things and let's go and buy you a car. Even if you buy a little expensive one, it's okay. We can pay in installments."
" How about you take the new car, Mama? I am fine with your old car. I just want it to commute."
" Don't say stupid things. I love my old car and have no desire to get a new one. You just take care of yourself."
Stella didn't argue with her mother and obediently followed her. She drove the car. Her mother thought her how to drive as soon as she was of the age so that she could use the car and do whatever she wants. She never put any restrictions on her and even if she stayed out whole night, she only asked her to be safe and inform her.
Her mother trusted her wholeheartedly and she knew her daughter would never get involved with anything bad. They both had a strong believe in each other. She knew Stella had fallen love in high school. Stella didn't say anything but she understood. Later, she just told her to take precaution. She trusted that her daughter would never fall for a bad person with how righteous and kind she is. It was only later after high school when Stella suddenly come to her crying like the world has ended.
Celina couldn't forget that day. Stella cried and begged her mother on her knees to find a girl for her. It was the worst moment for her to see her daughter in so much grief. She used all her resources and only got to know that Alice has left to some foreign country. When she told this news to her daughter, she was relieved at first to know nothing happened to Alice but then she was devasted.
In the longing of that person, she spent nights crying and that, as a mother, she couldn't forget. She tried to stay with her daughter all the time to get her out of that phase.
She still kept trying to find out which country Alice had gone too but never found out. She only stopped when Stella stabilized and got in college.
