Stella took a long bath. When she stood in the shower, she let a few tears slip and mix with the water but held herself back while saying its stupid to think so much about a dream.
She didn't go out until she felt calm. She saw Alice still sleeping and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. As she was cutting a vegetable in a daze, she cut her hand a little. She didn't feel the pain and looked at her bleeding finger in a daze. Suddenly, a pair of hands hugged her from behind and she was startled.
Alice quickly let her go as she was stunned but then she laughed. Stella flinched as she wasn't prepared. Alice found that cute.
Hearing her sweet gigling, Stella's eyes seemed to gain a little light. She tried to stabilise herself and turned around with a smile. She quickly hid her injured finger behind.
She smiled seeing Alice laugh at her.
" You rarely flicnh. Sorry for startling you." Alice tried to stop her fun and said to her.
" It's okay. You can go take a bath. I'll be done with breakfast then."
" No. I'll help you and then go to bath."
Alice wouldn't listen so Stella gave up. She pretended to wash her hands so that her Alice wouldn't see her blood. It wasn't a very deep cut so it didn't bleed much. It must be around two to three drops. As she was washing her hand, she heard Alice.
" Stella!"
" Yeah?" Stella quickly turned around hearing her exclaim like this. Alice didn't say anything so she followed her eyes and looked down. She was surprised. A single drop of blood was on the floor.
" Is that blood? Did you get hurt?"
" Oh that... No I think it might be sauce. I just place the sauce bottle in the fridge as it was out. Maybe I spilled it by mistake." Stella lied without batting an eye.
Alice looked up from the ground. She stared at Stella. Stella acted like she didn't understood the look.
" Stella, I don't like lies." Seeing the look in her eyes, she knew Alice was convinced it was blood. Alice told her sternly.
" Show me."
Stella felt guilty as she brought up her hand she just washed. Alice took it in her hand and saw that it wasn't serious. She felt relieved and pulled Stella to the living room. She got the first aid kit and helped her apply the ointment. Then she put a bandid on her cut and finally looked up at her. Her serious gaze was scary.
" Stella, you don't need to lie to me about this small things. In any matters, especially about your health. Whether its a small matter or big, never lie to me. Tell me even if its a small cut or a big illness. I really won't tolerate lies in this matter."
" Okay."
" Promise me."
" I promise."
" Alright. Now wait here. I'll cook the breakfast. I'll eat first before getting ready. And I'll be driving you to the office so no need to bring your car."
" But... "
" Don't argue with me. I said I'll drop you so don't worry."
Alice got up and left. Alice acts like this rarely. She is not the dominant type of person but when she's at most serious about something, she becomes like this. She won't hear a word that others say. This type of Alice was the scariest. More scary then her angry self.
After getting ready for work, they both went out. They took Alice's Mercedes this time. Stella was glad that it was relatively low key but also not as it was a Maybach. Stella didn't like attention on herself and if her colleagues saw her, they would be nosy and ask a lot of things.
As Alice started the car, Stella looked at her. Alice seemed to be a little upset. She didn't know what to say. Since the hospital was nearby, they reached there soon in silence. Stella didn't get out of the car so Alice looked at her questioningly.
