Dawn's POV

It was a quiet day for me, Grim, and Perry as we were spending some of our free time in Ramshackle Dorm after classes were over. Grim was just lying on the couch still feeling depressed about not being able to play in the upcoming Magical Shift Tournament, while Perry was taking a nap on my shoulder. After finishing my homework for the day, I was making special plans to give my dorm a thorough clean-up since I'm now the official Dorm Leader and I wanted to make this place much more livable since this is my home for the time being. I wrote down in one of my notebooks the things I needed to get fixed up here such as dusting the rooms, polishing the floors, removing old furniture, painting the walls, and patching up the roofs; I knew this was going to take a lot of time and money, but if I follow my plan accordingly with my class schedule and make a proper budget, I could get this old dorm looking better by the end of next month.

"Aaahhhuuhh. I just don't wanna do anything... Nothing brings me joy if I can't play Magift.", Grim said. His body was completely slumped on the couch as he felt miserable and kept grumbling.

"Still not over that?", I asked him. All I could do was pet his head for sympathy since I felt a little bad that he wouldn't be taking part in the tournament.

The three Ramshackle ghosts noticed us and fluttered down to where we were. "What's up Grimmy boy? What's got your fur in a bunch?", Puffy asked him.

"He's pouting 'cause they won't let him play in the Magical Shift Tournament. Hee hee hee!", said Chubbs with a snicker.

If you want to play that bad, we'll play against you. We were players that drove the crowd wild 90 years ago!", Stretch offered, remembering back when he was still alive, that he was one of the best players in the days.

"We need a team of seven, right?", muttered Grim.

"Doesn't matter since it's not official! Let's go.", said Puffy.

I thought for a moment and then I said, "Sounds alright with me. Let me get changed real quick and I'll meet you all outside." Perry started to wake up from his nap so I told him to go out with Grim and the ghost so I could get changed into my P.E. uniform. Once outside, the ghosts floated on opposite sides forming a circular goal; since Perry was too small to play, he sat on the sidelines to watch us. "Kyu, Kyu, Kyu!", he squeaked as he was for cheering for us. Grim was holding up a dark blue disc with his magic and was waiting to get things started.

"Alright, shall we go over the rules?", I asked as I fixed up my ponytail.

"No need to worry too much about the rules. Just take the disc and put it through the goal.", Stretch told us.

"I'm gonna leave you all in the dust!", Grim proudly declared.

"Better watch out, everyone goes after the guy holding the disc with magic. Hee hee hee!", Chubbs said with a chortle.

"Then, is everybody ready?", I asked as I looked around to see everybody was in their designated positions.

"Game; start!", Puffy announced.

Just like that, Grim ran down the field with the disc in tow; I started running alongside him. The ghosts soon flew at him to snatch the disc away from us; Grim blew fire at them to clear the path for us. I ran farther ahead of Grim so I could catch the disc when he threw it to me. But before I could grab it, I felt a pair of hands grabbing my ankle and I ended up tripping; it was Stretch who came up from the surface and took the disc instead. However, Grim managed to intercept them and managed to get the disc for us.
