It now revealed the full scale of the town; the entire place looked much denser compared to Emerald Town. However, the architecture seemed quite different. This didn't matter much to the blue blur as he casually strolled through the streets. He observed how the people were different from those in his hometown, almost as if they were from a different time. Nevertheless, it intrigued him, and his attention shifted to a bar.
"Man... I've been walking around here quite a bit now. Why not just go inside this place?"
He approached the entrance but was promptly pushed away by the guard. Sonic sighed as he looked at the guard.
"You... need to pay to enter this place."
"Oh... I had to pay? Let's see... uhh..." Sonic checked his pockets, only to find them empty. He looked at the guard with a poker face. "I don't... have any money."
"THEN GET OUT OF HERE...!" The guard's response was harsh, kicking the hedgehog away. Sonic stood up and walked away, disappointed. "Man... guess I won't be having my fun time here."
As Sonic continued his walk, he stumbled upon a group of thugs harassing a random peasant. Unhappy with their behavior, Sonic stood in their way.
"Hey... you! What did this man even do?"
The peasant spoke up, "I haven't done much of anything. I just think, hitting my dog just because they attacked you, you don't have to beat it down!"
The thug retorted, "Oh, really then... what were you up to? You're no good of a pet owner, anyway."
"Then... however you tell it, you almost murdered my dog!" The peasant pointed to the injured dog.
Sonic spoke quietly, "Dead or not, whatever involves first violence, no matter if it's an animal, their instincts are dumb. Even so, you still had to understand that you not only insulted this man's day but his friend."
Facing Sonic, the thug challenged, "Oh, being tough, aren't ya? Why won't you just back off and tell your little parents that it's best not to pick up adults like us in that way?"
Sonic touched the thug's arm. "You broke his heart."
As the thug stepped back, he called more of his gang, surrounding Sonic. Sonic sighed. "They sure like to not break a sweat." Without much effort, Sonic defeated them all, leaving them on the ground.
"You... saved me..." The middle-aged human looked at Sonic, impressed by his combat skills. As they made eye contact, a white-haired individual interrupted them. "Oh... what's this? A big trouble?"
Sonic explained the situation, and the white-haired man checked the dog. "The wounds are indeed brutal. No need to worry, sir; he'll be fine. But it looks like he'll need good care."
"If that's the case, I'll be glad," the peasant said.
The man then looked at Sonic. "But as for you, you did a good job. I'll warn you, fear the consequences."
"Consequences... Well, it can happen anytime, but I doubt it." Sonic shrugged.
The man sighed. "Well, I do have a great understanding of a way to treat people, so I'll save this pet's life."
"What is the price?" the dog's owner asked.
"For free. Any animal's life should be saved, no matter what happens to them."
"Thank you, sir. Your help is what we need," the man thanked the mysterious man, and Sonic walked away, smiling.
As Sonic continued, he encountered the white-haired man again. "So, what now? It feels like I have done my part."
"Tell me, hedgehog... A certain person told me to find a hedgehog with blue fur, and his name was Sonic The Hedgehog. Are you him?"
"Wait a minute... I am the person you tried to look for!"
The white-haired man clapped his hands. "Of course, I am! Now that you gathered here, let me introduce myself. My name is Cassius, and I was sent by Aeon, one of your mentors, to see if you guys are doing a fine job or whatever."
Excitedly, Sonic responded, "Ah! So, you are familiar already! Yeah, Aeon did mention your name once. But now that you brought me here, what gives?"
"Actually, I was about to say it, but it seems you are lacking in numbers. Where did the rest of your group go?" Cassius asked.
"They are in the same town as we are right now. It looked like they were pretty much separated. I guess I'll find my friends there and explain much of the encounter I had with you."
Cassius clapped. "It's nice to hear. Once you bring all of your comrades, be sure to arrive there, because there is much to discuss."
"Alright! I'll be in no time. They'll be found in no time!" Sonic smiled as he sped up and ran towards the horizon. Cassius smiled, noticing how much charm this hedgehog exuded.
