As it goes, the hedgehog walks into an empty district; it looks like everyone is indoors, so not much to waste. He then walks into the center of the district and sees that the place is decorated to resemble an actual battlefield. He notices many torches around the area, as well as the whole bandit group staring at the blue hedgehog's face, until a leader, seated on a chair that resembles a throne, looks at him.
''So, we meet again. Looks like you're really that brave, huh?''
''I have arrived, and I will deliver that promise to you!'' he points a finger at him.
''Don't be so hasty... hey, did you come all the way here by yourself? I'm sure your little friends won't ruin our time, right?''
''They're not here. I came all here by myself!''
''Then... it's all good. Hey, before we fight, what's your name, little one?'' he questions him.
''Sonic the Hedgehog,'' he replies.
''Then... I see, Sonic. I shall call my name too. I call myself... J'.'
''J...? Is that your name...?'' Sonic looks at the tiger with a skeptical look.
''Believe it or not, that's my birth name. But out of the way, show what you got, Hedgehog. Let's see how good you are...''
''Then... I'd give you everything I got!'' the blue hedgehog says confidently. He makes a lowering stance, begins a little warm-up exercise, warms up his legs, and then, with enough posing, runs so quickly, curls up in a ball, and strikes the tiger with a Spinball attack.
J gets hit and pushed a little. As he moves his hand to brush off the wound, he carefully stares at Sonic. ''Not bad... I guess that attack wasn't even full of your strength, right?''
''Ah... yeah...?'' Sonic shrugs.
''Well, sorry to give the talk, but... that didn't faze me!'' J says cheerfully, makes a fist, aims at the ground, and as Sonic jumps high into the air to avoid the hazard, J punches through the literal ground. The whole area crumbles, almost like an earthquake is happening. Sonic lands on a rock, thinking, 'He sure has Knuckles-like strength. I must act more carefully.'
As Sonic tries to come up with a strategy, J comes out of nowhere, using the ''blue trail.'' He's right about to launch a sneak attack when Sonic, remembering from his training, blocks the attack with his elbow. It seems like a cheap shot, so it doesn't affect his guard much. J looks at the hedgehog. ''Not bad, eh? I guess you're somewhat experienced...''
Sonic focuses seriously on J, and they start a couple of fist clashes. Eventually, they engage in close-range combat, striking blows at each other until J has enough. He stomps the ground, causing another shake that makes Sonic stand in shock. Right as Sonic is vulnerable, J focuses all his strength and uses all his force to punch Sonic in the gut, sending him flying across the district. Sonic crashes into a building.
The tiger stands, smiling. ''So, guess it then... that's where I win.'' Proud of himself, he walks to the crash site and looks at Sonic, covered in blood. Sonic looks done and J looks down at him. ''And... where's the vigor you got? Even if you're THAT classed, you still ain't beating me!'''
Sonic still looks down, almost like he isn't moving at all. J doesn't wait and pulls up, ready to give him the final blow. But with the last fraction of a second, Sonic smiles, and suddenly he's right behind the tiger, triggering a roundhouse kick that sends J flying away. ''Tricked ya.''
J gets up, hit by the attack but angered. ''You brat... trying to fool me like that, unforgivable...''
''I'm that type of person. Even with this one strong attack, you've taken on me, I would still be standing, even at my last legs!'' Sonic smiles confidently, fixates on his fighting stance, and is ready for the next attack.
''Don't kid me around!'' As he gets more heated, J changes his playstyle, using the blue trail trick again, this time near Sonic's range. He aims and begins throwing consecutive punches at Sonic. As Sonic starts to show some closeness in power, he's able to react to the attacks. With a skillful counter, Sonic grabs one of J's arms, tosses him out of the way, and J falls, even more irritated. Bandits start to show concern for their leader.
''Well, you have played by yourself, Sonic! However, your playtime is over. I'll have to use some nasty weapon that you won't stand a chance against. Here it comes... one of my mystical weapons, named... Double Deceit!'' J takes out dual knives, but suddenly, white energy wraps around the bandit king's left arm, giving him an even greater advantage. ''What will you do now, Hedgehog?''
''Me? If you're going to use a blade, I can do it too!'' Sonic lets his arm forward, and his Soul Weapon summons. He moves into his regular fight stance, ready to clash with J.
''So, you can wield a Soul Weapon...? No wonder you could watch my attacks, but to also repel them, you're a suitable opponent for me to FIGHT!'
It then turns from a fistfight to a battle between the blades, a fierce battle that will raise its stakes even more.
