[INTERMISSION ARC] Chapter 56: Act of Will

It looks like Sonic has finally proven enough, that he can really show the art of a Soulblade, He who had proper Sonification, was the skill of his test, and he showed that he can do it, pretty swiftly. And for Dijon, it seems he has done a similar thing as well, both had their act of regaining their power, yet their roads differed, it seems they can be a proper wielder of the Soul Weapon. It looked like the blue hedgehog has finally worn out, so he was putten up to sleep, while for the orange one, it seemed he was almost set to awake, although it looked like he was dreaming, and that dream was somewhat strange. It felt like he saw a vision, it felt like he was from Satsugai's perspective, and he headed those words. ''Your transgressions are laid bare! Despite granting you a second chance, you squandered it once more. Now, you shall remain imprisoned for over ten thousand years as your retribution!''

As he heard those words in his head, It shocked him as much, as he actually got up from the bed, almost looked like a nightmare, Dijon was sweating highly, almost as he saw through his pain, so he nodded down as he was awake. As he looked in the window, he still remained in Aeon's house, he wondered and began to whisper. ''But.. can this dream, actually be real...? Was Satsugai, a real victim, or.. an actual bad person, I just don't know...''

As he looked timid by that reaction, he dressed up and walked to a living room, it looked like no one was there, just only him. ''Well... looks I'm a lo-''

''HEY DIJON...!"' Knuckles walked on, it seemed like he was carrying Sonic by his shoulder, and made him feel surprised. ''Wait.. what's Sonic doing here..?!"'

Aeon walked on as well, greeting him. ''It's nice to see you well, Dijon. It looks like your friend, Sonic needed to get stronger, so he decided to follow on the same path as you, but even so, it was much harder for me to take care of each of you, it feels like I do want to get a little rest, after all.''

Dijon would smile, although with a previous dream, he had, the smile didn't feel much brighter. ''I see,  such an old guy like you, should really need to take a rest.''

''Of course, I do need... take that rest...'' He sat on the chair.

''So, Aeon. Are you really going train them at the same time, I bet that would be difficult for you...'' Knuckles said.

He sighed. ''Indeed. Sonic and Dijon, can be quite bothersome to train now, their potential is absurd, although... they need another tutor.''

''Wait.. a tutor..?!"' Dijon would cross his hands.

''Mhm... you look surprised, isn't...? But it's no matter now, I think you should get take a one-day break, from all of the practice you took.''

''What about, Sonic...? you'll think he is going to be alright...?'' He questioned, as he was unsure what he went through.

Aeon spoke, as it saw how Knuckles was taking care of Sonic, like taking him to a bedroom. ''You see.. he had a fair of share, fight with me, although he did push a far too little, he still has somewhat good will to him.''

''Ah..'' as by his word, he moved his head down a little.

''There must be something gone a little off with you, Dijon.'' He said, a bit noticed by Dijon's emotion.

''You think... Satsugai is a bad person..?'' he said it straight.

As he hard, he wondered. ''I'll tell the truth, Satsugai did indeed steal that device.''

''Uh, he did... but I never understood why... is it cause of the boredom..?'' 

''He.. actually did that, cause he hated the reality of existence, that's what he told me, when you fought your previous battle, he directly went and reached me, we sure had a talk, I didn't seem to be actually that furious or what, He has a broken heart.''

Dijon kept his head down. ''Then... Why... the Balancers kept that device valuable... I never understood.. they didn't know his exact motive..?!'' and by his speech, it felt like the anger on him, kept rising.

Aeon kept him calm. ''Well.. you don't need to get way ahead of yourself, they aren't actually a bad kind of people, but... it seems, their justice is supreme. I'm surely... they need just a word, to get the truth, right...?''

''Words are strong, but... it takes more than that.'' 

And by that, he stood up. ''Aeon... I have my goal now.''

He looked to Dijon. ''A Goal..?''

''I think... I am going to free Satsugai.'' He said it, as his bravery filled right to his soul.

''So, you want to die..?'' Aeon responded coldly.

''Ah... I'm not ready, right..?'' He felt a bit disappointed.

''Indeed, sure you have regained powers, but.. you're going against an entire organization, that protect this very reality, for thousands of years, or even millions. You shouldn't meddle with them, in any way. I know you want to seek, and give that Soulner a freedom, but you shouldn't risk your life.''

''But.. how I can repay his work, I must thank him. He is the reason, why I am still standing, is the powers he gave, is that device.'' He showed that watch, which is now mysteriously repaired, although it does have a few cracks in there.

Aeon nodded. ''I respect your decision, although.. we should talk more about that situation, once your training will be complete.''

They would see Knuckles walking downstairs and look at them with a serious look. ''I think... i have a goal too.''

''Huh... guess you're obsessed with a thing called; ''Goal'' too...?'' Aeon replied.

''I think so, I think you forgot that the Master Emerald I once protected, is no longer set in stone, and it's held by them.'' As he said.

''Oh, right. That Must be their reasoning of some sort cleansing the stains, that big rock once had, I think we already had a talk with that, Knuckles,'' he said.

''Yeah.... but it still some sort bugs me, and it leaves me, a little worried... but.. maybe, I should just... get used to this new life, losing my title as a guardian.'' He leaned to the wall, as he never was fit to be anyone, but the protector of the master emerald.

''I think you're a guardian, even without the Master Emerald,'' Dijon said, as his smile would brighten up again.

''To.. protect friends... I guess that could make sense, given... how much I care about you guys.'' Knuckles would return with a smile.

Suddenly... Aeon stood up from the chair. ''I think.. we should end our chat, for today... Tomorrow will await you, Dijon.''

''Yeah... i'll be waiting for you too, Aeon.'' He would give a thumbs-up afterwards.

''Meanwhile...  am I just going to do my ordinary thing, I'll train my muscles like I would always do.'' Knuckles would grin then.

''Oh, and.. then I'll be seeing you, Knuckles.'' As Dijon said goodbye to him, he safely returned to his home, although... it seems that the training yet continues, but.. it feels like the events, kept happening, from the next to the next, waiting for them to have a new event.

Meanwhile... in an unknown place, it more looked like a prison, though that room looked quite exotic, then it was seen Satsugai sitting down in a chair, his hands being tied by the cuff hands, and yet he kept his smiley face, then Reix would look at him. ''No matter what happens, and yet you keep the same face, as when I first meet you. Don't even mind it...?"

He would give a glare to him. ''Anything.. that can go wrong, but.. there's nothing I could just care about right now.''

Reix would giggle. ''Sure...! I bet being locked in there, won't mind you either, there's one thing i must say,  Null Soulners can't have good support, no matter what can go in their life, isn't this fateful..?''

''Eh.. like if I would care..'' Even if he did just hear those words, he just played out and began to lay, Reix would be a little irritated. ''Fine.. if you would like to behave like that, I doubt you'll get sent free anyway.'' then the echidna left, not sure what will wait for Satsugai next.
