Those were the questions that keeps on circling inside the h/l h/c haired girl's head. She's unable to remember what happened in her life before she became what she is. Who she is, or where she came from. All she can remember... is that she isn't always the way she is.
She's a demon. But never harms a single soul. She don't have the urge to devour human like any other demons do. Instead, she finds them captivating. The way they're all able to live happily with their loved ones. Those scenes often makes her wonder if she have a family of her own in the past. But no matter how hard she tried, she can't remember.
Y/N is sitting on top of the tree as she observes a lovely family having dinner through the window. She leans her back against the tree bark as she watch the family shares some happy meals together. She hugs one of her knees as she watches them.
Family... do I have a family? She thought to herself as she watches their exchange. How happy they look. She let out a sad sigh as she turn her gaze to her lap. Her eyes sadden as she try to recall her past. But is met with nothing. Why can't I remember anything? She thought again.
A sound of laughter snaps her out of her daze. She turn her head to look at the family. A soft smile graze her lips as she watches the father of the family chasing after his kids, trying to get them to get to bed. It must be nice to have a family.
She let out a sigh and decide to finally leave the place. She jumps down the tree. The sound of laughter still rings in her ears, as she slowly walks away. A sense of sadness lingering in her heart, wishing she could remember what her life was like before she turned into a demon.
She flinch when someone bumps into her. She turn her head to see it's a little girl. She looks like she's in a deep trouble. Y/N feels worry growing in her heart at how the girl looks so scared.
"M-Miss... p-please h-help me. H-He's trying t-to h-hurt me" she said, her voice cracks a little. The little girl flinch when she hears the sound of footsteps. She quickly get up and rush to hide behind Y/N. "H-Help..." she whimpered, looking up at Y/N with a pleading gaze.
Y/N stares at her for a few seconds before turning to look forward just as a man comes into her view. "Yumi! You get back here this instance!" He said. Y/N can feel the little girl shaking as she clings onto her, letting her know the little girl is terrified of the man in front of them.
"If she doesn't want to come with you. Don't force her. It's clear that you're not a good person" Y/N said. Her voice sounded cold as she stares at the man in front of her with an emotionless expression. The man looks taken aback by what she said, before growling in anger.
"Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?! That girl needs to learn a lesson. She dares to steal from me" The man spatted angrily, with his finger pointing at the girl hiding behind Y/N. Y/N turn her head to look at the girl before focusing her gaze at the man. "And you should mind your own business, young lady!" He said.
"I hate a man who mistreated young kids... if you want her, you're gonna have to go through me. I won't let you get her easily" she said. The man starts to grow even angrier by what she just said. Y/N just move slightly to stand protectively in front of the girl.
"And what can you do, huh? She's coming with me whether you like it or not!" He spat. Y/N clenched her hands into tight fists as she stares at the man in front of her.
"Oh yeah?" Y/N said, mockingly. She let out a laugh as she shakes her head, while slowly stepping forward with her head low. She slowly lift her head as she stares at the man with a cold gaze.

"I'd like to see you try..." she said, smirking at the man's fearful reaction. The man backed away as soon as he realizes Y/N isn't a human. He backs away and turns around, running off while screaming out of fear.
Y/N blinks her eyes a few times as her eyes turns back to normal. She turns around to face the girl. She kneel down in front of the girl to be on the same eye-level. She smiles softly at the girl as she places a gentle hand on her head.
"There there... the big bad guy is gone now" she said. She gently cups the girl's cheeks to wipe her tears. She places a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Are you okay, hm? Did he harm you?" She asked. The girl just shakes her head as she stares at Y/N with a smile. "Your name is Yumi, right?" She asked.
"Yes, Nee-San..." she said. Y/N hums softly and nods her head. Yumi stares at her with a curious face. "What about yours? What is your name?" She asked.
"My name is Y/N..." she said. She turn her head to look at the distance to see the sun has started to rise. "I have to get going now. The sun is about to rise soon. Take care, okay?" She said. She ruffle Yumi's hair gently. She turn around to leave, when a tug on her clothes stops her. She turn her head to look at Yumi to see her staring back with a pleading look.
"P-Please d-don't leave m-me a-alone..." she begged. Y/N's eyes soften at the girl's sad expression. Y/N turn to look ay the horizon for a few seconds and kneels back down in front of the girl.
"Hey, listen... I'm not a human, Yumi. I'm a demon... a monster. You're not safe if you hang around me" she said. Yumi shakes her head and throws her arms around Y/N's neck, catching her by surprise.
"I don't care... Nee-San is kind! Yumi likes Y/N-Nee..." she said. Y/N blinks her eyes a few times. A small smile eventually forms on her lips. "Please take Yumi with you, Nee-San. Yumi promise to be a good girl..." she said while staring at Y/N with a pleading look. Y/N stares at her without saying anything back. But eventually let out a soft sigh.
"Looks like I don't have a choice, huh? I don't want to leave you either. That man could come for you again" she said. Yumi just stares at her with a hopeful gaze, hoping Y/N would agree to let her come.
Y/N's eyes soften. She lightly shakes her head and starts to smile softly. "Okay fine... you can come with me..." Y/N said, making the Yumi's eyes lit up at what she said. She turn around so her back is facing the girl. "Hop on... and hold on tight as we're about to go on a high speed" she said. Yumi quickly did as told, wrapping her arms around Y/N's neck firmly.
Y/N stands up and make sure Yumi is secure on her back. "Ready?" She asked. Yumi nods her head to let her know she's ready to go. Y/N smiles softly. She looks forward and starts to run lightly. Yumi let out a gleeful laugh as Y/N starts to quicken her pace. A soft smile appears on her lips at the sound of Yumi's laughter. She's not alone any longer. She now have a new companion.
