Previously on Chapter 6
'I wonder what my first mission would be like' I thought to myself as I walk next to Tomioka-San. I turn my head to look at the sky that's now in the shade of orange as it is close to night time. I'm nervous... but also excited. I can't wait to see what's awaits for us.
-Unfortunate Fate-
Y/N P.O.V
I look up at the sky as snow begins to fall. The ground beneath us slowly gets covered by the snow. As I exhale, a puff of smoke escapes my lips. It's a good thing that I don't feel bothered by the snow.
I inhale and caught a scent of blood. "Tomioka-San..." I said, turning my head to look at the boy next to me. He turn his head to look at me. "I smell blood... and lots of it" I said. He gasp at what I said.
"Lead the way" he said. I nod my head and starts to run. I hear Tomioka-San's footsteps behind me. I just focus on trying to find the source where the scent is coming from.
I let out a shaky breath as I notice a house. Everything is a complete mess. There are body everywhere. I walk up to a small boy laying by the entrance of the house. I stare at the boy with a sad expression.
"It really doesn't bother you?" Tomioka-San asked. I turn my head to look at him as he scans my face. "The amount of blood here... it didn't bother you? At all?" He asked. I just shake my head at what he said. I reach down, gently placing a hand on the boy's back. I close my eyes as I see flashes of images in my head.
Stop! Please don't kill them! A voice echoed in my head. I focus on the image, noticing it's a girl. She have fair skin. But the most prominent that I notice is her eyes that are wide of terror.
I gasp and breathe heavily. Tomioka-San rushes over to kneel next to me. "What happened?" He asked. I turn my head to look at him. I try to control my breathing as I take a couple of deep breaths.
"I've always been able to see someone's past by physical contact or the object they own. These people have been brutally murdered by the progenitor of demons..." I said. I turn my head to look at the boy.
I turn my head and stand up as I look around. My eyes eventually stops at a basket. I walk towards it and leans down, placing my hand on the basket. I close my eyes as I focus.
"What did you see now?" Tomioka-San said. My eyes snap open as I grab his wrist, proceeding to start pulling him along. "Wait! Tell me what's going on!" He said.
"There's no time! There's a boy with a checkered trying to save a girl. But from what I saw from that kid's view earlier... the girl shouldn't be alive that long with wounds that severe. I have a bad feeling about this, Tomioka-San. So we need to hurry!" I said. I let go of his hand and start to run faster.
From the distance I can see a boy being pinned down but the girl from my vision. "There they are!" I said. The girl looks like she's about to devour the boy. I stop running as I stare at them, having no idea what to do when I notice there are tears streaming down the demon girl's cheeks.
Tomioka-San quickly run passed me and jumps forward with his Nichirin sword out, ready to decapitate the girl. The boy notices him and rolls out of the way. His hair got sliced by Tomioka-San's sword. I watch as he rolls around until his back hits the tree with the girl in his arms.
He turn his head to look at us. He turn his gaze and make eye-contact with me. With just one look in his eyes and I can already tell what he's feelings. Sadness and despair.
This boy must be one of the family member of the family that have been murdered. It makes me feel bad. He's still so young. He's only a teenage and he have to witness the death of his family. He must have felt miserable.
"Why did you protect that thing?" Tomioka-San said. His comment snaps me out of my daze. My assumption was proven correct because the boy claimed that the girl is his younger sister. The rest of the kids in that house were a lot younger than him, which means he must be the first born child of that family.
Tomioka-San lunges forward and grab the girl away from him. I watch in silent as the boy pleaded Tomioka-San to not kill his younger sister. I know that it might not be the best idea to let the demon girl live. But then again... I'm also a demon. Wouldn't that make it unfair if he let me live and not that young demon girl? After all, there's a possibility that she'd be like me.
"She would never hurt a human! Not Nezuko! In my house there's another scent. I'm sure that's the one who murdered my family" he said. I turn my head to look at Tomioka-San. He have the girl in his grip as she trashed around to get out of his grasp.
"It's quite simple... your little sister's wound get exposed to a demon's blood. That's how the man-eating demons multiply" he said, calmly. He lift his hand that is holding the sword. "A human who turned into a demon will never turn back into a human..." he said.
"I will find a way! I'll turn her back into a human. So Please! P-Please don't kill m-my little sister. And isn't she also a demon?" He said, gesturing towards me. Tomioka-San turn to look at me for a brief seconds and turn to the boy again.
"She is different. She have proven that she's not like the other demons and protect me when a demon was about to kill me. Don't you compare her to this thing you called a sister" Tomioka-San said. I frown at what he said. While I feel glad that he stood up for me. I don't like how he trash talked that boy's sister. Demon or not... she's just another victim.
"I'm sure Nezuko is also like that. She would never hurt anyone" he said. He drops on his knees as he bow his head. "Please d-don't take a-anyone e-else from me..." he pleaded again. The sight makes my heart aches painfully. I wince in pain when my head starts to hurt.
Don't kill them... a voice echoed in my head. I open my eyes and shakes my head. What was that? It sounded like my own voice. But why do I sound so desperate... what am I begging for and who was I talking to?
Tomioka-San seems enraged with the way the boy acted. He starts yelling at the boy. He scolds him for begging at him instead of fighting.
The boy throws a rock at Tomioka-San who swiftly dodge his attack. He run around the tree and throws another rock at him. He try to charge upfront. He's only driven by his emotions. Which enraged Tomioka-San, who lands a hard hit on the boy's back rendering him unconscious.
Again, I was proven right when the girl kicks Tomioka-San only to kneel protectively in front of the young boy. She lunges at Tomioka-San. He only avoids his attack. As she was about to hurt him, I appear in between them and hit the young girl's neck. She let out a pained gasp as she slowly loses her consciousness.
"You saw it too, didn't you, Tomioka-San?" I asked, as I kneel down next to the girl. I turn my head to look at him. "She could be like me..." I said. He just nods his head at what I said. I turn my attention to the girl again and smile sadly.
I gently scoop her up and walk towards the boy. I gently place the girl down next to him as Tomioka-San grabs her blue haori. He gently drape it over her body. I place my hand on their cheeks and closes my eyes. I see what happened in their point of view along with their feelings. What an unfortunate fate you both have. You poor things.
A While Later
The boy gasp awake as he held onto the girl's haori. Tears are streaming down his cheeks as he stares at his sister. I turn my head to look at Tomioka-San who just leans his back against a tree.
"You're awake?" He said. The boy turn his head to look at him and scoops up the girl in his arms. He still looks so scared. He must feel worried that we might kill his little sister.
"Just go to Mt. Sagiri and find a man named Urokodaki Sakonji. Tell him that Tomioka Giyuu sent you both. That girl seems to be fine because it's cloudy. But never let her get expose to sunlight. Come, Y/N... let's go" he said, turning to look at me as he said the last sentence. I nod my head at what he said. I glance at the boy for a few seconds to see him staring at me. I give him a small smile and leave with Tomioka-San.
