Chapter 41

Previously on Chapter 40

"You protect these children, Y/N. I'll handle this demon myself" he said. I stare at him worriedly. Judging by the pressure of this demon's aura, he's powerful. Giyuu won't be able to win if he fight this battle alone. I've got to assist him. But I have to protect these kids at the same time. What should I do?

Y/N P.O.V

The demon turn his head to look at me who's standing protectively in front of the children. He stares at me with his red irises. His eyes narrows a little when he notice the demon traits in me.

"Aren't you a demon? What are you doing in cahoots with humans?" He said. I just glare at him, without saying anything. He furrows his eyebrows as he squints at me. "Wait... I know you. He talks about you a lot" he said.I furrowed my eyebrows at what he said. Who is 'he'? Is he talking about Kibutsuji? I remember the memories I regained from the Lower Moon 1.

"'He'? Are you talking about Kibutsuji?" I said. The wide grin on the demon's face confirms my suspicious. "What did he want from me?!" I asked, demanding for him to give me an answer. I need to know what's the relation between him and I. Why is he constantly appearing inside my memories?

"Ah... so it's true, huh? You lost your memories after your transformation..." he said. I click my tongue in annoyance because he's evading the question. "I feel sorry for the man. He was devastated when he finds out you don't remember him after he searched all over the world for you" he said.

"Stop talking around in circles, you bastard! Tell me what he wants from me?!" I yelled at him. The smirk on his face only widens. I feel myself growing frustrated the longer he refuses to give me an answer. I speed towards him, grabbing him by his collar and slams him down. A large cracks forms on the ground as I hover above him, growling angrily. "Tell me now" I demanded.

"You were everything to him. You still are, Lady Y/N. The Lord treasured you the most" he said. I just stare at him as I tighten my grip on his collar. My eyes widen at what he said.

You're going to be okay, Y/N. I promise... I'll do whatever it takes to keep you alive a voice echoed in my head. I wince as I clutch my head. What was that? Why does that voice sounded familiar? I shut my eyes tightly as a flash of my memories appear in my head.

Memories

I'm laying on a bed, staring up at the ceiling as I feel weak. Someone is here with me. I turn my head to look at him. He stares at me with a sad expression as he held my hand in his. There are tears in his eyes as he stares at me with a troubled expression.

"There's only one way for me to keep you alive, Y/N... but I'm not gonna do it if you don't want this kind of life" he said. I just stare at him. He places a soft kiss on the back of my hand, gently caress my knuckles with his thumb. "I have to turn you into a demon, Y/N. Do you wish to continue living despite not being a human?" He said.

"It's better than leaving you in this world alone, Muzan..." I said. His eyes widen slightly at what I said. A soft smile start to form on his lips. "So do it... turn me. I don't want to die. I still want to be with you" I said.

"As you wish, my love..." he said. I lift his hand, turning his finger nail to claw. He cuts a slit on his wrist and place it close to my lips. "Here. Don't drink too much. Your body won't be able to handle the fast transformation..." he said. I just nod my head.

I gently hold his wrist as he hold my head, helping me sit up a little. I gently place my mouth on the cut and starts to drink his blood. Almost instantly, I feel excruciating pain surging through my body.

Everything was a haze after that. The only thing I remember was waking up away from that house in the middle of nowhere under the moonlight. I just sat there, unmoving and having no clue of who I was.

End of Memories

A single tear rolls down the side of my cheek as I finally remember something important from my past. I gasp as I feel a hand grab my neck.

"So it's true after all, huh? The more memories you regained... you returned to be a human. I don't care about that man as I'm not affected by his stupid curse. Kibutsuji Muzan is nothing but a pathetic man" he said. His hand tightening around my neck. I hold onto his hands as I try to pry it away from my neck. I'm close to be a human again, but I still feel the demonic strength within me.

"Why are you still resisting? You're nothing but a weak human now. It would be easy to kill you. The look of despair in his eyes will be all worth it!" He said, clearly unaware of the demonic self within me. A flash of silver appears out of nowhere, severing his arm. I fall on the ground with a thud as I wince in pain. The demon let out a pained scream. "You stupid mortal! How dare you interfere!!" He yelled.

Giyuu move to stand in front of me, protectively. "Get your filthy hands off of my girlfriend" he said, angrily as he points his sword at the demon. The demon let out an amused chuckle at what he said.

"Giyuu..." I said, weakly as I hold my neck while still trying to regain my breathing. I try to get up but my body feels weak. He turn to look at me briefly and turn his focus back on the demon in front of us.

"Oh? Well, I'm sure Muzan wouldn't be happy to learn about the fact that not only did his beloved forgets about him. But she ended up falling in love with a man from the very organization he hated. A filthy demon slayer! You really are pathetic, Y/N. A demon with a human. Your love will never be..." he said.

"Shut up!! Don't you dare talk about Y/N like that you filthy demon!" Giyuu yelled, angrily. He lunges forward to fight the demon. But the demon easily avoids all of his attack.

"Giyuu... stop. He's too strong for you. You're going to get hurt" I said, still struggling to get up. But my knees feel numb, so my body ended up falling again. "Giyuu... p-please" I pleaded. I watch as the demon managed to land a hit on him. I have to do something. If I don't, he will die. Come on, body. Don't fail me now. Please... just a little longer. Move!! I have to protect Giyuu. Get up!!!
