We have to find that bamboo and retrieve it. The only thing I can do is hope for the best and actually manage to find the bamboo I'm looking for. I mean, I'm still able to fight without a flute but my attacks would be less effective. So we don't have a choice but to do this. I need flute to produce my Demon Blood Art, which is music. Without it, I'm just another average demon. So finding that bamboo is a must.
-Mountain Of Demons-
Y/N P.O.V
Giyuu and I are now standing by the base of the said mountain. It didn't take too long for me to be here to realize the presence of demons lurking around here. I feel their ominous auras.
"Giyuu..." I said, turning to look at my boyfriend. He tore his gaze from the mountain to look at me. "I think it would be best if you stay away from this mountain..." I said. He frowns at what I said. I turn my head to look at the mountain for a brief moment before turning to look at him again. "I can feel them... the demons. There's too many of them lurking around. It won't be safe for you to be here, Giyuu" I said.
"Well, thats the more reason for me to come along, Y/N. I'm not letting you hike up that mountain on your own, when there're demons lurking around..." he said. I open my mouth to retort, but he covers it with his. "You may be a demon. But once they figure out whose side you're on... they won't hold back and would start attacking you. I don't want you to get hurt, Y/N" he said.
I just stare at him as he gently tuck some strands of hair behind my ear. "I don't want you to continue going up that mountain on your own. I want to be there with you, to protect you..." he said. The way he speaks so softly, yet his voice sound stern. He's not leaving any room for me to argue back.
I let out a soft sigh at his statement. There's no point in trying to argue with his statement. No matter what I have to say, he just wouldn't listen. I'm sure he'd stay stubborn and would insist on going up this mountain with me, regardless of what I say. Why did he have to be so stubborn?
"Come on. We shouldn't waste too much time" he said. I let out a sigh and nod my head. His hand gently grabs my hand. His fingers entwining with mine. We turn our body to face the mountain. We start making our way up the mountain.
The sun is still high above our heads, but trying to look for the bamboo would take a while. Demons could come attack us. This mountain didn't get much sunlight due to its geography and the clouds. In other words, this is a demon's paradise. They can roam around freely without having to worry about getting expose to the sun.
Giyuu and I keep walking further into the mountain. All the while, keeping our guards up. We have to be extra cautious because we won't know when the demons will show up and attack us.
"Watch out!" I yelled out, pushing Giyuu out of the way. A demon came from within the ground as I jump out of the way. I land on a tree branch, as Giyuu also avoids the demon's attack. I clench my hands into tight fists. How can I fight this demon when I don't have a flute. I can't be at my upmost strength without my instrument.
Giyuu is quick to react as he pulls out his sword. He lunges at the demon, succeeding in cutting the neck. I jump off the tree and head towards Giyuu. He turn to look at me.
"See... I told you it would be better if I came along..." he said. I let out a sigh and nod my head. He gently place a hand on my head, ruffling my hair. "I'm here with you for every steps of the way until we succeed in obtaining the bamboo to make your new flute..." he said. I smile softly at him.
"Thank you, Giyuu..." I said. I step closer to him, gently wrapping my arms around his torso. He wraps his arms around my shoulders, hugging me close. "I truly don't know what I would do without you. I'm so glad you're here with me. Forgive me for trying to make you stay out of here" I said.
"Don't be sorry... I understand your worry. No matter how you look at it, I'm just an ordinary human being" he said. He pulls away and gently places his hands on my shoulders. "So it makes sense why you're worried. If I sustain any serious injuries it would cause me to lose my life. But don't worry... I'm not defenseless" he said. I just smile at what he said.
"I'm sorry for doubting you..." I said. He just shakes his head, letting me know it was fine. I lean up, pressing my forehead against his. "You're truly the best boyfriend I could ever ask for, Giyuu. I'm so glad that I can meet someone as amazing as you are" I said. He smiles and gently peck my lips.
"And I'm glad that I decided to bring you with me. If I decide to just move on without you, I would have lost the chance to have a wonderful, beautiful, kind-hearted girlfriend like you" he said. I feel my cheeks growing warm at his choice of words. He let out a laugh at my reaction and gently nudges his nose against mine.
"I think it's best for us to continue our search of the rare bamboo, before more demons starts showing up on us"he said. I nod my head in agreement. He gives me soft kiss on my forehead before slowly pulling away from me. He smiles softly at me as he gently holds my hand again. We continue to venture further into the mountain.
***
We have been going around this place for quite a while. But no matter where we look, we can't seem to find the bamboo I need for my flute. We have faced quite a lot of demons every now and then, but none of them are quite strong. Even I can kill them off using the blade on my shoes.
I turn my head to look at Giyuu. His pace is slowing down. I stare at him worriedly, as I stop walking. He stops as well as he turns to look at me with a confused look.
"You're tired, Giyuu..." I said. He shakes his head as if trying to deny the fact. I lift my hand, gently placing it on his cheek. "You can't lie to me. It's shown clearly on your face, Giyuu... perhaps we should take a break? You can get some rest. I'll keep watch" I said.
"Taking a break on this mountain would be risky, Y/N. What if a demon attacks us while I was out? You're defenseless without your flute. It's not safe for you" he said. I let out a sigh and nod my head, realizing he was right.
I know how dangerous it will be to let our guard down for too long. But if Giyuu keeps on going with this task in the state he's in, he's going to get himself hurt or even worse. But what's the best choice we have now? What can we do?
