Chapter 23

"I love you too, Y/N" he said. He leans down and gently place his lips against mine. I tilt my head, kissing him back. He pulls me closer as he tilt his head, deepening the kiss. I smile into the kiss as I tangle my fingers through his hair. As happy as I am to be promoted... parts of me still have doubts. Will I do good as a Hashira?

-A Celebration-

Y/N P.O.V

Giyuu and I pull away from our kiss. He gently caress my cheek as he smiles softly at me. I smile back as he places a soft kiss on my forehead. He let his lips linger against my skin.

I hear someone clearing their throat. I pull my forehead away from Giyuu-San's and turn my head to see it's coming from Uzui-San. I turn my head to the side, soon realizing the of the Hashira's are still here.

Kanroji-San smiles as she walks over to me, looping her arm through mine. "Come with us, Y/N-Chan. We want to celebrate your promotion!" She said. I blink my eyes at what she said. Looks like Father is right about it. "But... you can't eat human's food..." she said. She sounded a little sad.

"Actually, I can eat, Kanroji-San. So let's go and eat?" I said, smiling softly at her. Her eyes widen at what I said. She let out an excited squeal and start pulling me with her. I let out a yelp at her sudden move. Just how much strength does this woman have?

I hear a chuckle behind me and turn my head to see it's Giyuu. He shakes his head as he walks faster to walk next to me. He gently slip my hand in his. I smile softly at his gesture and entwined my fingers with his. He give my hand a gentle squeeze.

We ended up in a small restaurant. We head towards a long table, so everyone would fit. I take a seat in between Giyuu and Kanroji-San. Everyone else takes the available seats. Sitting across from me is the Wind Hashira.

I feel uneasy with how he's staring at me. I can't read his face so I don't know what's going on inside his head. I just turn my gaze away from him. Even so, I still feel his eyes on me which makes me fidget uncomfortably.

"Is there something wrong, Y/N?" Giyuu asked, noticing my discomfort. I turn my head to look at him. "You seem uneasy..." he said. I take a quick glance at Shinazugawa-San to see that he already took his eyes off of me.

"Yeah, Giyuu... everything's fine" I said. He hums softly and nod his head. I turn my head to look at the menu. I've got no idea what these dishes are. I've just recently gain back my sense of taste. So I haven't got a chance to try a lot. "Um, Giyuu?" I said. He turn to look at me. I scoot closer to him while holding the menu. "I have no idea what to order. Can you help?" I asked.

He smiles softly and scoots closer to me. He looks at the menu over my shoulder. He's so close that I can feel his breathing on the skin on my neck. I feel my cheeks slowly growing warm at the close proximity. Why am I getting flustered by his closeness? Giyuu is my boyfriend. Maybe because there are others around us. Yeah... that's gotta be it.

"Hmm... I would recommend this one, f/f. I think you'll like it" he said, while pointing at the menu. I turn to look at him. He let out a laugh at my expression. "Don't worry, Y/N... it's not a spicy dish" he said.

"Hmmm..." I hum softly. I turn to look at him and smiles. "Alright. I'll take your word for it. I'll have this dish..." I said. He smiles softly at me. He reaches over and gently ruffle my hair. "Giyuu!" I whined at him for messing up my hair. He just let out a laugh at my reaction. I let out a soft huffed.

The waiter took our orders, now we just have to wait for the food to come. I hear someone calling my name. I turn my head to look at the person, which is Kanroji-San. She smiles at me as she wrap her arms around me.

"I'm so happy we have another girl. It was always me and Shinobu-Chan. So it's so nice to have a new girl member" she said. I blink my eyes at what she said. I smile softly as I return her embrace.

"Thank you, Kanroji-San..." I said. She pulls away from me and starts to pout. I stare at her in confusion. "What? Did I say something wrong?" I asked.

"Please call me Mitsuri instead of Kanroji, alright? Since we're friends now!" She said. I blink my eyes at what she said. I didn't expect her to consider me as a friend. When she accepted my presence despite knowing what I am. It was already making me so happy. Now she considers me as a friend.

"Wahhh why are you crying, Y/N-Chan?? Did I... did I say something wrong?" She exclaimed. I feel a hand on my cheek. Which I know is Giyuu's hand. I turn my head to look at him. He gently wipe the tears from my cheeks. I smile softly at his loving gesture. I gently move his hand from my cheek and turn to look at Mitsuri-Chan again.

"I'm happy, Mitsuri-Chan..." I said. She just smiles at me and wrap her arms around me. I let out a soft giggle as I return her gesture. She tighten her arms around me. She's literally squeezing me in her embrace, a little too tight as well. I swear if I wasn't a demon, she would've crushed my bones with that strength of hers.

The food finally arrived. The waiter who's bringing my food tripped, which sends a its content all over me. I let out a yelp at the stinging pain. She let out a gasp as she stands up, bowing at me repeatedly as she begs for my forgiveness.

"No no no... don't worry. I'm fine, miss. This is just a minor incident. Please, stop apologizing" I said. She bow at me once more before walking away, only to come back again with a pair of clothes.

"This is my clothes. Don't worry they're still clean. I hope that they'll fit" she said. I blink my eyes at what she said. I lift my hand, waving it gently to let her know she didn't have to give it to me. "Please... I insist. Take it as my apology, miss" she said. I let out a sigh and take the clothes from her.

"Well, then... I'll be going to the bathroom to get change, alright?" I said. They nod their heads. I smile at them and turn around, making my way towards the bathroom to get change.

A While Later

I stare at my reflection as the wound from the food's heat starts to heal. I let out a sigh and finally wear the clothes the waitress have given me. It surprisingly fit perfectly. It also feels quite comfortable.

I wash my hand in the sink to clean them from the excess food. I wave my hand to get rid of the water. I turn around to walk out of the bathroom. I jump in fright when I come face to face someone who stands in front of the door with their arms crossed.

"You scared me, Shinazugawa-San..." I said, placing my hand on my chest. He didn't say anything as he just stare at me. "Do you need to use the bathroom? I'm done... you can use it now" I said.

I turn around to walk passed him, but his hand swiftly grab my wrist. I flinch at his action and turn my head to look at him with a startled gaze. "C-Can I... help y-you, Shinazugawa-San?" I asked. He suddenly push me into the bathroom and closes the door. He pins me against the wall.

"What are you-" I try to say, but didn't manage to finish my sentence as his hand moves to cover my mouth to prevent me from making a sound. I feel fear creeping up in me. What is he doing? Is he going to kill me?
