When i re-read the last chapter i realized i kinder skipped from lunch to dinner haha but im gonna keep it with dinner as it worked better imo

Tally turned on derry girls and relaxed back pulling her blanket up a bit getting comfortable leaning slightly into mary. She needed the physical contact when she was feeling like this. A teeny weeny bit unstable. Mary smiled softly as the younger girl leant into her, she wrapped ger arm around the girl bringing her closer. She grabbed her phone and quickly messaged beth giving her a quick overview of what had happened. Reassuring her knowing that given that tally had stormed out of the dining hall looking very upset.

Meanwhile, lorry and nancy were sitting in their room. "Ive been talking to miss carter and she wants to give tally a call tomorrow to just you know get to know her a it and introduce herself before she goes back obviously especiall given her learning difficulties, her obvious temper and her family/living situation and oh well football!" lorry said to nancy as they both sat on their respective beds doing some work. "Whats going on with her right now shes being just like shes a lot more sensitive and reactie lately dont you think?" nancy asked lorry wondering if it was just her that was causing it. Lorry nodded. "I think the whole back to foster care thing has thrown her and especially as she doesnt know why yet and i think theres been issues at home for a while to be honest. Shes been struggling a lot more than shes been letting on and im not sure that the incident when she ended up having to get stiches in the hospital was so much of an accident as she suggested, theres definetely something going on that shes not told us yet i just i can feel it, did u see the fear when she broke that glass!" lorry said knowing they had to try and get through to the kid.

Both women were worried what the girl would end up doing to herself or to others. She was foot deprived, sleep deprived, realistically it was only a matter of time until she broke, they wouldnt be able to avoid that especially given the amount of exercise she did.

After they had been laying there for about 35 almost 40 minutes tally heard the door beap as presumably lucy let herself in. she tensed up automatically but once she saw lucy come in she relaxed knowing she was safe, nothing bad would happen to her on camp. Right? "Hey kid, hey mary what are you guys watching?" lucy asked curiously. She had seen tally leave he dining hall looking very overwhelmed and to be honest she looked scared. Lucy didnt really get why she would be scared. They girls would never do anything hurt her on purpose didnt she know that by now. "Derry girls!" tally said smiling at her softly seeing the slight worry in her face. "arghhh that's such a good series we should all watch it downstairs at some point cos some of the girls haven't seen it which it a crime!" lucy exliamed very passionately making mary laugh. Lucy looked at her pretending to be annoyed but stated laughing too with tally and mary. Lucy went and grabbed her jumper and was about to leave before saying "some of us are in the games room if u want to join any time talls!" softly looking at the girl who looked down but nodded anyway just hoping lucy wouldn't ask anymore questions or try to get her to join. After that lucy left tally looked at mary briefly before looking away.

Mary noticed of course the kid wasnt exactly subtle but she didnt know why the kid had done it. "You okay darling?" she asked her unsure what she was thinking. "Why is socialising so hard for me?" she asked in a tired tone. Mary sighed and pulled her in a bit closer before turning to properly look at her. "Well you had a hard childhood and you obviously still have issues around that and you are scared of people and how they will react, from what ive seen you quite obviously have anxiety and your a shy girl you just when you get stressed out often its because you are overwhelmed and because of the anxiety it means big groups of people can be harder for you, it throws you off kilter!" mary tried to explain gently. Tally nodded and cuddled into her a bit more. "You know my papi and lucys dad were best friends, my younger siblings apparently know her family quite well!" she said to the older woman. Mary looked at her surprised. Well that was unsuspected "how come you didnt know that?" mary asked gently.
