Thalia quickly turned on her flashlight, the three all coughing because of the smoke. "You okay?" Thalia asked.

"Oh yeah great." Thomas said sarcastically, sitting up.

She shined her light around, only to see everything closed off. "Oh no, no.. how are we gonna get back to the others?" Thomas said.

"Relax. I'm gonna get us out of here." Brenda said, handing Thomas another flashlight.

"Why are you helping us?" Thalia asked after a moment of silence and Brenda rummaging through a bag.

"Trust me, it's not my idea." Brenda replied, "Jorge seems to think you guys are our ticket to the safe haven. And, he wants to know more about.." she pointed her finger at Thalia. "You."

"Me? And the what?" Thalia asked, what the hell is a safe haven?

     Beats me, Thomas replied.

"Wait, you seriously don't know?" Brenda paused, looking at her.

Thalia stuttered, "what should I know?"

"Everyone knows, I'm guessing it's because WICKED took your memories.." Brenda trailed off.

"Knows what? What?" Thalia pushed, confused.

"About Mark." Brenda replied, but Thomas quickly butt in so Thalia couldn't ask any more questions.

"What the hell is a safe haven?" Thomas asked.

Brenda sighed, "you know, paradise? Safe from the sun. Free of infection." She said, putting her backpack back on her back. "Supposedly the Right Arms been taking kids there for years. Immunes, anyway."

Brenda stood up, Thalia and Thomas quickly following after her. "You know where that is?" Thomas asked.

"No," Brenda replied. "Jorge knows a guy. Marcus, used to, used to smuggle kids under the mountains." She grunted, picking up a wooden thing and throwing it.

"If Jorge made it out, that's where he'll be taking your friends." Brenda finished.

"If he made it out?" Thomas asked.

"You know you ask a lot of questions." Brenda said, turning to him. "Can you just, come over here and help me with this? Please?"

Thalia looked at Thomas as he quickly made his way to Brenda, helping her open a vent. While they were doing so, Thalia took this as an opportunity to think.

Mark. Who was that? She's only seen him once. But it was a memory, it didn't count. They seemed to be lovers maybe? Thalia shook her head at the thought, she didn't really agree to loving anyone like that.
