Luca
Sure enough, Gray, Maeve, and the twins got to the hotel around thirty minutes after I had put Allena to bed. The only thing I could do to keep myself from punching every wall in the hotel room was to pace back and forth thinking of every way possible I could make Adonis pay.
"Luca!" The twins shrieked, letting go of Gray's hands and running into my arms.
"Hey girls," I said softly. I looked past them, towards Gray who was trying to coax Maeve into the room.
"Maeve, please," He said softly, holding out his arm. She just blinked at him, not really moving out of the elevator. "Please," He said again. Finally she nodded, grabbing his arm and let him pull her inside. She gave me a half smile before sitting on the couch, and curling up her body then throwing a blanket over herself.
"It's getting worse," Gray mouthed to me. I just sighed, pulling away from the twins, and squatting down to their heights.
"Girls, I know...I know this is going to be a lot to take in, but do you know why Gray and Maeve brought you two here?" They shake their heads no, and I take a deep breath before continuing. "Allena, and I hung out today, and when I took her home I noticed she had some..."
"Bruises?" Callie finishes. I nod, and tears start welling in both of their eyes. "She told us we couldn't tell," She starts, a couple tears leaking from her eyes.
"Hey, hey, no one is mad or upset with either of you, ok?" I said looking in between them. "We brought you two here because we want to help all three of you, ok?"
"No more of Uncle?" Eleni asks, tilting her head.
"No more of uncle," Gray smiles, kneeling down beside me. They both smile, throwing their little arms around me and Gray.
"Is Laney ok?" Callie whispers to me, as I pick her up.
"To be honest, baby, I don't know. She's taking a nap right now, but when she wakes up we're gonna make sure she's ok," I say softly.
"He hits her the hardest," She sighs, setting her head on my chest. "Whenever he gets angry, he hurts Laney. With his hand...or with his belt...whatever he can find. I tried to save her sometimes, but he just hurt me too, and Laney made me promise I wouldn't do that again." I sighed, rubbing her back, and telling her none of it was her fault.
Gray held Eleni who still had tears streaming down her face, and he was trying his best to console her. This was an absolute shit show.
Allena
I woke up in...a bed? How the fuck did I get here? Then, memories from today came flooding back, and everything made sense. Oh shit. I tried to sit up, but I ended up hitting my head on the backboard of the bed. Ow.
"Allena?" Luca came fast into the room, quickly scanning me to make sure I was ok.
"I'm fine...I just hit my head," I mumble.
"The twins are here. So is Gray and Maeve. Don't worry...I didn't tell anyone else," He sighs, sitting down on the bed beside me. "But, Allena, you have to tell me why you're so bent on not telling anyone..."
"Adonis will take Eleni and Callie away," I say quickly, "Or even if he manages to get arrested, they'll be put into foster care, and I won't be able to adopt them for an entire year...at the least. It's not something I'm willing to risk."
