"Harry, wake up, our letters came!" Ron ran into his room and jumped on Harry's bed. The Weasley's were kind enough to let Harry spend the summer with them. Ron knew that it was because Harry was his mum's favorite child, but that was fine.
"Ugh... what time is it?" Harry mumbled, he did not sleep well last night, he never really slept well anymore. Between the nightmares and his grief and the unending guilt, he was lucky to get two or three straight hours a night.
"It's half past ten. We're going to Diagon Alley to pick up our supplies."
"Ten more minutes?" Harrys asked pulling his pillow over his head.
"Nope!" Ron ripped the pillow out of Harry's hands, "You'll miss breakfast, well, you already missed breakfast, but mum saved some for you."
"Fine..." Harry whined and rolled out of bed rubbing his hair. He was letting his hair grow out, it was now long enough to hide his scar and his glasses if he pulled it forward and wore his hoodie or his beanie. Anything to try and blend into the public. Unfortunately, it was still an unruly mess that could only be squashed with headwear. School would see the same bird nest hair that he's sported his whole life. "Will your mum be mad if I skip breakfast today, I'm not hungry and I'd rather shower before we go?"
"Harry, you're losing weight mate..." Ron started but Harry quickly cut him off.
"It's just baby fat, I'm thinner but, Ron... what if we get lunch today when we're out shopping? I'll clear my plate and this way we can get going faster, it'll be my treat?"
"Oh alright, we have to meet Hermoine at 11:30 anyway, so I guess that'll work. Go take your shower but be quick about it."
"Ron, um, who are we going with today?" Harry asked not looking at his best friend.
"Don't worry Harry, Ginny already left, she's meeting some of the girls from the quidditch team... you know Harry, I'm really sorry that..."
"It's fine." Harry cut him off, "You have nothing to be sorry about, see you downstairs in 10, yeah?"
Harry stepped into the shower, he was indeed losing weight, but he actually looked rather fit in his opinion. A thin fit, but there was muscle definition everywhere, I guess that was one good thing about being on the road, hiding, fighting and nearly dying constantly for a year. Maybe once he's back at Hogwarts he'll put some weight back on but probably not, seeing the school again after the war and not seeing the familiar faces he's been used to seeing... not seeing Crabbe, who he didn't even like, will be hard enough let alone Colin and Lavender... nope, he needs to stop thinking and just get downstairs.
"Good morning Mrs. Weasley." Harry says as he races down, he decided to put on the happiest face he could muster today and try not to worry his friend and his family any more than they already did. "Did my letter come too?"
"Harry, dear, of course, it's on the table. Would you like some breakfast?"
"Not today, we're meeting Hermoine for lunch, and I think I already made us run late. Do you mind?"
"Harry, promise me you'll eat a big lunch, you're thinner now than you were when you got here." Molly tsks.
"Promise." Harry picks up his letter and smiles as he rips it open.
