Ron left for the Three broomsticks leaving Harry and Draco to walk Kyle back to Hogwarts and Ravenclaw tower. Reminding Kyle that he can't tell anyone anything they've accomplished or what's in the works. There're too many variables in play that make it impossible to determine how successful they'll be.
"I like your earrings." Harry smiles. "Sapphires suit you."
"Thanks, Potter." Kyle hugs him before turning to hug Draco, "You too Malfoy, thanks for everything."
"Behave yourself." Draco points, "And here." He hands him several shopping bags filled with everything the boy commented on. He never asked for anything except getting his ears pierced and pizza. "I mean it, behave."
"Always." Kyle winks before approaching the portrait. The noise from the common room drifts into the hall. The chant of 'Kyle, Kyle' when the boy enters gives him a smile that they rarely see. The victory party that Mike forbade is in full swing.
"I like your new earrings too." Harry looks at the double piercings that adorn Malfoy's ears.
Harry and Draco start making their way to the dungeons.
"Ah... I'm going to stop by the hospital wing." Harry runs his hand through his hair.
"Do you want me to accompany you? It's Finnigan, I presume."
"It is, but no, I'll see you later."
"Potter... yesterday..."
"It was... it wasn't real. We didn't fight, he just couldn't do it anymore and neither could I, if I'm being honest. It was too much. Can we talk about this later? I want to see him before Pomfrey closes the wing to visitors."
"Come to mine afterwards?" Draco smiles, "We should talk, and maybe... not talk."
Harry grins, "Maybe..."
"Git." Draco smiles walking away.
The hospital wing is only open for another hour. Harry could hear Seamus laughing when he entered the room. Madame Pomfrey warned him that he needed rest and not to upset him. Apparently, even she heard about their nasty break up.
"Seamus." Harry waves approaching the bed. Dean is sitting next to him, "Dean." He nods, "How are you feeling? Sorry it took me so long, we just got back from London."
"How's Kyle, did you get it all sorted?" Seamus smiles.
"Yeah, we got tons of paperwork started, he has access to his Gringotts vaults. There's still a lot that needs doing but he's in a much better place... But what about you, Sea? How are you? Seriously?"
"I'm fine. That antidote Draco and Steve cooked up works fast. I'm just here for observation. Dean's been mother henning me since I got back. Promise me you'll take him with you." He laughs at the look Dean gives him.
"That's great, well not dealing with Dean, that blows, but I'm glad the antidote works." Harry pulls a chair over from the other bed. "Do you want to talk about... ah..."
"About how I'm no longer immune to that potion?" Seamus looks down at his hands, "No, not really. I guess I should apologize for..."
"Nothing." Harry reaches over squeezing his hand, "Not a thing... I have a theory... I think that love is a spectrum just like... well, I think that sometimes love can get blurry. Especially with what we were doing. That weekend at the Burrow... that was one of the best weekends I've ever had. It got me all jumbled up inside. I think I was definitely starting to like you more than a friend, you were probably feeling the same. Maybe a bit more because at least when we're alone Malfoy does all the boyfriend stuff, Theo never did and... ah... I do love you Seamus, but I love Dean." Harry fist bumps Dean across the bed, "I love Ron, I love Hermione, Neville, George, Ginny, even Ernie and well, I think that the boyfriend stuff, the hugging and the cuddling and well... ah, the kissing confused everything; and I think you do love me, like I love Ron. We're friends. One of the best friends I have. When you told Theo you loved me, you did... just not like, well you know..."
