Hermione and Harry are working in the common room after class. Harry's been quiet, refusing to make eye contact with almost everyone today. Ernie, Neville, Seamus and Dean all asked what was wrong, but he couldn't tell them. Malfoy didn't go to any of his classes today but stayed in his dorm instead.
Hermione went to check on him after lunch. She helped him fill in her information on his potion arithmancy project, but he couldn't meet her eyes.
"Harry," Hermione smiles, "Have you given any more thought about your wedding date? I know we got a bit sidetrack but we still need to find you someone."
"Um." Harry pulls his charms book closer to him, "No, not really. I know I have to but, ah, there's not really anyone to ask?"
"There has to be someone you can take."
Ron walks in noticing Hermione and Harry. He joins them at the table, leaning over to kiss Hermione on the cheek.
"Mate, are you fighting with that ferret again or what?" Ron pulls out his charms book.
"No, why?"
"Well, he's been gone all day, not that I'm complaining mind you, but he's usually pretty good about going to class."
"We're fine, great. We're great."
"Harry, look at me. Honestly, you've been moping all day. What's got into you?"
Dean and Seamus sit with them at their table. Justin and Ernie come in from class, Ernie pulling Justin along with him.
"Potter." Ernie sits across from him.
"Macmillan." Harry smirks, "How's it?"
"I heard you're looking for a date." Ernie smiles, "Trouble in paradise? Get dumped for getting other blokes flowers?... Seriously Justin, just sit down. Quit hovering, you're being weird." Ernie looks up to his housemate who's been extra antsy today. Justin sits next to Ernie.
"How did you hear about that?" Ron asks.
"Hogwarts." Dean laughs, "Nothing stays secret here. Next time don't talk about it in the library with two Slytherins. I'm mean, the four of you just working together would be enough to draw everyone's notice but you were actually talking."
"Shit." Harry mumbles.
"It's fine Harry." Seamus pats his hand, "What about Daphne, she owes you."
"Are you talking about me over there?" Daphne calls from across the common room, "I do not appreciate being the topic of conversation for Gryffindor's and Hufflepuff's."
"Quit eavesdropping, if you don't want to hear what's said about you." Hermione smiles at her friend.
"I like your biscuits." Ron shouts over to Daphne, "Harry might forgive you after a few more batches. Something about cranberry orange biscuits, I don't know, you'd have to ask him."
"I didn't say that." Harry smiles.
"What do you think Justin?" Ron asks, "You've got a sweet tooth, yeah? What's your favorite biscuit?"
"I don't know." Justin mumbles, he pulls his charms book out.
"Are you ok?" Seamus looks at Justin.
"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, Finnigan, just you know... charms." Justin points to his book and begins writing.
"What about Hannah or Susie?" Ernie asks Harry.
"Ah..."
"Susie has a date." Hermione turns the page in her book. "I don't think Hannah would be a good choice for Harry. I know someone who already really fancies her and Harry wouldn't do that to him."
