Harry, Ron and Hermoine entered the Great Hall for breakfast Saturday morning. It was still early for a weekend, most of the tables were empty with just a few students from each house.
"Did you know that Parvati was almost sorted into a different house?" Hermoine tries to make conversation with her two tired friends. "Apparently, she was almost placed into Ravenclaw with her sister. I never knew that much about her, I mean, we roomed together but it was never just us you know. We talked a lot last night. Did you know that she wanted to try out for Quidditch but her parents forbade her. That's crazy, I mean, I would never want to do it but... Are you guys even listening to me?"
"Of course, 'Moine." Ron mumbles through a mouth full of food.
"Yeah." Harry yawns.
"Did you sleep Harry, you look horrid?"
"Thanks 'Moine. My self-esteem is topped off for the day now." Harry smirks, "Not really, I don't sleep well, you know that."
Neville, Dean, and Seamus join them at the table and start piling their food.
"Pancakes, yum, I'm starving!" Seamus smiles.
"I bet." Harry grins.
"Shut it, Harry." Seamus blushes.
"Why weren't you sleeping with Harry?" Ron asks.
"What?" Seamus drops his fork.
"I mean, you weren't in your room this morning."
"Why weren't you in your room, Seamus?" Hermoine asks, "You know we aren't supposed to be switching rooms, it was in the handouts that we found when we unpacked yesterday. The rules clearly state that there can be no switching roommates. Not that anyone would really want to, I mean most of us are with our own houses."
"I'm not." Neville chimes in directing Hermoine away from Seamus.
"You're not? Who's your roommate?"
"Ernie Macmillan."
"Well, that's okay then, isn't it? He's a nice guy, follows the rules, he was a perfect with Ron and I." Hermoine eats a bit of her toast, "Oh, I forgot to tell you guys. We're having a party tonight in the common room. There'll be party games and we're all going to try and get to know each other better. I mean now that all the houses all sharing, we have a chance to really get to know one another. Padma, Daphne, Susan and I are going to have the house elves bring up treats, maybe get some drinks, and just have fun... aren't you guys excited?"
"Do we have to go?" Harry mumbles.
"Yes! It's our first time planning as a unity committee and I need you guys to..."
"Look at Malfoy!" Dean watches the group of Slytherin enter the Great Hall for breakfast. The Gryffindor's follow his gaze and notices that Malfoy is in muggle clothes.
"Man, he's hot." Seamus mutters.
"What did you say?" Ron quickly looks at him.
"I said, man, he's NOT."
"Not what?" Harry asks.
"Wearing muggle clothes. I mean, have you ever seen him in muggle clothes. It's just jeans and a button up but those are definitely muggle clothes."
"Nice save." Harrys whispers so only Seamus can hear while the other boy turns red.
"Sod off." Seamus smiles.
"Gentlemen and lady." Terry Boot winks at Hermoine. "McGonagall asked me to hand out everyone's schedule today, so here." Terry hands everyone an envelope, "Remember that some of us have therapy sessions scheduled for today and those are in there too so you better open them." He walks off leaving the Gryffindors to head over to the Slytherins passing out envelopes and delivering the same message.
