Seamus joined Harry as they started to leave their potions classroom. They both have a free period before lunch. Most of the class needs to hurry to their arithmancy lesson. Harry waits to see if Ron will join them, he's hoping that he would be willing to talk things over with him today. He doesn't need Ron being mad at him on top of everything else he's dealing with. Ron walks passed them, knocking into Harry's shoulder, earning and eye roll from Hermione.

"Don't worry about it, Harry, he'll come around. He always does." Seamus drapes an arm over his shoulder as they head back to their room.

The notice board in the common room has the tutoring schedule and the first club meetings. Harry looks at his schedule, he'll be tutoring Defense Against the Dark Arts on Wednesday nights. Seamus has his first DADA club meeting Sunday evening.

"Harry, will you come to my meeting? I have no idea why they picked me for this. You're a much better choice. This is stupid."

"Probably because they're making me tutor instead... I planned on going, what are you starting out with?"

"Probably going to copy what you did for the D.A., will you help me?"

"Yeah." Harry opened the door to their room and threw his bag on the floor. "Whatever you need."

"Oh, I almost forgot." Seamus digs through his bag and pulls out a book. "Theo asked me to give this to you."

"Why is Theo giving me this?" Harry walked over to take the book from Seamus.

"I don't think it's from him." Seamus smiles as he hands over a copy of the book 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King. There's a piece of paper between the cover and the first page.

Hope you enjoy the book. Remember to ask Granger if you get stuck on the big words. I made you a bookmark, it's almost as good as the one you drew for me.

D.M.

Harry opens the book to see written on the inside cover: Property of Draco Malfoy. There's a bookmark at the beginning of chapter one. It looks sort of like a pig if a pig had a mane.

Seamus looks over Harry's shoulder, "Now the real question is... is he really that bad at drawing lions or did he want to make Gryffindor's mascot look like a pig?"

Harry snorts, "Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"What do you think of Malfoy?"

"Harry... I can guess why you're asking me this, but I think you need to tell me why you want to know. I mean, if you were Ron or Dean or even Neville, I think I would have a different answer for you but if I'm right about why you're asking than I want to give you the answer you deserve."

"Can you give me both answers?"

"If I do, will you tell me what's going on? Remember, Theo's his roommate, I see a lot of that man when he's not at his best. I also see you when you're not at your best. Just don't treat me like I'm stupid, yeah?"

"Never, promise. I need someone to talk to about this, who better than my roomie?"

"Alright." Seamus sits on the couch and Harry joins him. "If you were Dean, I'm going with him because he's my best mate; also, because there's not as much history between them as there is with Malfoy and Ron or Neville... I think Malfoy is fucked up. Now, I don't mean that in a bad way necessarily. I think you're fucked up too. If I only had one sentence to described him, that would be it."

"That's not that helpful."

"I'm not done Harry... I think Malfoy is living with some hard truths. I think he lives in his head and I don't think it's a good place. He mumbles to himself a lot. He's defensive even with his friends. He's impulsive. He's repressed, that's for sure. He has a lot of anger, which I know you can understand. He doesn't know how to be this year. Does that make sense?"
