Harry and Zach made their way to the quidditch pitch to train the new Seekers. Draco, Greg and Mike will beat them to the field, but they would all be early. Ron was already there finishing up his team practice.
"We invited our captains to this." Zach was tired of walking in silence. Harry has been quiet all day. He knew Justin and Harry had some kind of row before breakfast; but Justin never tells them anything. He would never count Harry as one of his friends, a friendly acquaintance maybe; finding out what happened would have to be left to Ernie.
Harry turned around to see other students following further behind.
"All the captains? From each house?" Harry sighed.
"I think so... Is there a problem with that?"
"No, it's fine."
Harry didn't look fine. Zach really wanted to run up to the other group or maybe fall back to the younger years, this wasn't fun. Time to change the subject and walk quicker too.
"So, Harry," Zach smiled, "Who tagged you?"
Harry brushed his hand across his neck and gave the same answer he had to have given twenty times today, "Oh, that... your mum."
"Really? That bitch didn't even come say hi." Zach strolled off after the other group.
Harry smiled; it was the first genuine smile he had since before breakfast. Out of all the replies he received, Zach's was the best. Most of the rest just gave him ideas as to what he could do with himself or just ignored him afterwards. He still didn't like the guy but maybe he had some redeemable qualities.
"Any day now Potter." Harry heard Draco's voice carry from inside the pitch.
"Piss off Malfoy, I still have time. The Seekers aren't even here yet."
Harry watched the end of the Gryffindor practice. He could see Ron blowing a whistle after his Beater nearly hit his Chaser with his bat. The Chaser in question was Ginny Weasley, the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain, who was watching the newcomers instead of what she was doing.
The whistle blew again, "Alright everyone, bloody good practice. Weasley and Steadforth, stay behind. The rest of you lot are done for the night, get some sleep, we need to beat those slimy Slytherin bastards tomorrow." Ron motioned his team to the ground.
They watched Ron's team descend and make their way to the locker rooms, grabbing water on the way.
"Ginny, you can't get distracted." They heard Ron talking to his sister, "Every time you get distracted could be dangerous or you could miss a play. You need to get your head in the game. You're the captain, they look up to you. You'll be doing my job next year."
"Shove off Ron, it was one play. You didn't say we'd have company. I thought we had some spies coming to watch our practice." Ginny motioned to where Draco and Greg were standing with Harry and Mike. "Slimy Slytherin scum, like you said. Especially those two."
"Malfoy is helping us out, so try to be nice." Ron begged. "Goyle's ok too."
"Honestly?" Ginny looked at her brother, "You've got to be mental. I'm not doing anything with that guy. Bloody Death Eater, isn't he?"
"Acquitted, Weaselette, or haven't you heard? Wasn't it your boyfriend who got me off?" Draco said in his haughtiest voice.
"Not yet Malfoy." Harry whispered making Draco blush and Greg cough, luckily no one else heard him.
Ron, Ginny and the Gryffindor Seeker, Ian Steadforth, walked over to Harry, Mike, Draco, Greg and Zach. They waited for the other house captains and seekers to get to the field.
