Harry waits in the common room for his friends to get ready. Thankful that all the glitter fell off him sometime last night while they slept. Hopefully the house elves will be able to get it out of his sheets. As much as he loves Ernie, the guy can be such a wanker.

Everything he found out last night about Ian just bothers him. That poor kid. Malfoy's not only pissed at him about being a bad influence for Kyle, but he's pissed at him for standing up to him and for not letting him help. At least not in the way Malfoy can help; but there has to be something. Doesn't there? Probably not, it's probably a lifestyle. Not like crime is a lifestyle but more as... fuck if he knows. There's an analogy there somewhere... he really shouldn't have gotten stoned last night. After Malfoy kicked him out, he shouldn't have partied with Dean and Seamus; he's all foggy-headed now. At least he doesn't have potions, and he doesn't have to tutor until tomorrow. It's an easy day.

"Dean." Harry calls him over, "I need your help with something."

"As long as it's not potions, I'm fried. Whose idea was that anyway?"

Harry digs in his bag, pulling out one of his sketchpads, "You're good at art, probably better than me." He flips to a sketch that's half finished. "Can you help me?"

"Is that the dark mark?"

"Yeah." Harry's sketch turned the skull into a flower, "See, I want to change it but I'm having a hard time thinking of what to do with the snake. I want to add some other stuff too, but I think I need to get these two elements sorted before I move on to the extras." Harry turns a few pages back to show Dean all the idea's he's had but discarded."

Dean yawns, "Why?"

"It's for Malfoy... I, ah... that prick has everything? So, I wanted to do this for Christmas. I was thinking that with his dark mark fading maybe we can get this tattooed over it. I know he wants to keep it to remind him not to be a piece of shit, but he's not. He doesn't need that. So, for Christmas, I thought maybe I could give him this sketch and gift him a sitting with a muggle tattoo artist."

"Why muggle? Don't wizards have tattoo artists?"

"Probably, but if he's keeping the mark to remind him to be a better person or whatever, then maybe having a muggle tattoo over it would carry significance for him. I mean, I could get him a sitting with a wizard too, whatever he wants. I just thought... and well, there's something else too, tell me what you think and be honest."

"Alright."

"I thought that maybe I'd get the same tattoo before Christmas, you know, as part of his gift. Like we'd have matching tattoos, is that lame? Saying it out loud it sounds lame."

"It's not lame, it's cursed."

"What?"

"Couples who get matching tattoos always break up."

"Really?"

"It's what they say." Dean turns the sketchpad to face him, "It's like getting their name tattooed on you."

"Always? Without exception?"

"I don't know, Harry, it's what they say."

"Who's they?"

"People."

"But is it lame?"

"No. It's not lame, it's sweet."

"I was thinking of incorporating things that are important to both of us." Harry flips to a page near the beginning where he brainstormed possible items to include.

"What if we changed the snake into a tree, get rid of the flower and turn it into branches with the moon behind it." Dean starts drawing on a clean sheet, "Or, we keep the snake, they're significant for both of you. He's a Slytherin and you're a Parselmouth." He starts a new sketch next to it, "We can change the skull into..." Dean slams the book closed.
