Harry wakes from another nightmare, he's been having more nightmares these last three weeks. Almost every night. He keeps dreaming of watching his friends die. His friends who survived, all dying in horrific ways. Seamus has had to wake him more times than he can remember. Theo Nott came to wake him once when Seamus stayed with him. He hates when Seamus stays with Nott, because he's alone. He always has nightmares when he's alone. Well, he always has nightmares, but they're just worse when he's alone. Malfoy hasn't stayed here, he's not sure where Malfoy goes now but he hasn't stayed with him since that night he helped Nott.

Actually, now that he thinks about it. Malfoy and Goyle haven't had much to do with him since Malfoy told him to fuck off. Well, who cares, right? I mean, it's Malfoy. Goyle's still around, he doesn't talk to Harry but he's around. Malfoy isn't and he doesn't know why; but he also doesn't know why he cares.

Harry rolls out of bed; it's early but maybe Neville and Ernie will be up. Regardless, he can't stay here in bed thinking. Thinking chases the remnants of the nightmares away, but he can't control where his mind goes. Sometimes he just goes over and over the nightmares, like this one about the fire, watching Malfoy drop into the flames. Only saving Goyle as Malfoy and Crabbe burn... nope, no more! Time to get up and leave this empty room.

Harry showers and dresses before checking the common room for anyone who might be up. Before he leaves though, he smells his pillow, the scent is fading. Harry doesn't know why it makes him sad, but it does. He still hasn't figured out the smell, but it's fading. He even stopped showering at night so the smell of his wet hair wouldn't be absorbed by his pillow.

"This is stupid." Harry throws his pillow back on his bed and leaves, locking the door behind him.

Walking down the stairs he sees Neville watering his plant. Nev places his finger to his lips before Harry can say anything, he points to one of the chaise lounges in the common room. Malfoy is asleep, his book open on his chest. The common room doesn't have blankets, there's some pillows and it looks like Malfoy used one of those to keep warm.

Harry frowns and motions to the window. Hopefully Neville understands that Harry's asking him to go outside. Neville shakes his head yes and leaves to dress. Harry returns to his room to grab a blanket.

He slowly removes Malfoys book and drapes his blanket over the sleeping blonde. He must have been cold, since he wraps himself in it while sleeping. Harry returns to the table to wait for Neville. He cuts a small rectangle out of his sketch book and draws the Slytherin snake on it. He places it in Malfoys book, marking the page he fell asleep reading. It's the least he could do since he may have used his red Gryffindor blanket to cover him. Harry smirks as he watches Malfoy bury his face in the fleece.

Neville and Ernie come down silently and the three boys leave for their spot by the lake.

*****

Ernie and Neville are looking for beetles. There's a plant in Herbology that Neville is trying to figure out what it eats. It's carnivorous but so far it hasn't eaten any of the worms, slugs, or ants that it's been offered. They want to rule out all normal insects before moving onto magical ones. Ernie's just having fun catching bugs. Harry, of course, is drawing, but this time he has a model.

"Bloody hell, Harry." Ernie stares at the snake curled around Harry's wrist. Ernie thought he could hear Harry whispering to someone, but he honestly thought he was mumbling to himself. Apparently not.

"What?" Harry looks at his friend, "What's wrong?"

"Do you know what kind of snake that is?" Ernie takes a step back.
